Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my weekly blog.
This week I’m previewing the Droylsden game and looking ahead to our FA Trophy tie at Cambridge.
Tomorrow’s match offers us a chance to make up ground on leaders Hyde and the play off pack that by virtue of the weather are flying ahead.
Droylsden beat us 2-0 in the away encounter earlier this season.
It was a night BrotherBrid won’t remember fondly both for the poor Guiseley football and nearly ending up in A&E through salt poisoning.
It wasn’t my fault I decided to drop half of the Scarborough beach sea salt content on his chips.
The game was shocking, we were never in it and we deserved to lose against this much improved outfit.
We must buck our ideas up this time round against a team featuring ex-Guiseley favourite Warren Peyton.
They’ll be up for it as they both look to do the double over us and move away from mid table obscurity.
It is imperative we keep up the pace with those above us to continue our promotion push.
I was really chuffed to see us draw Cambridge away in the FA Trophy.
This is a massive match for the club. It offers us both a chance to test ourselves against a side in the league above and much needed cash.
The free travel incentive offered by the club is fantastic and this will be a great day out for every Lions fan.
We have an opportunity to make further progress in the Trophy and claim a huge scalp over our opponents.
That’s it for this week folks.
Next week I will look at Guiseley’s presence on the Interweb. AB
