Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my weekly blog.
This week I’m looking in to Guiseley on the web.
Perhaps the most popular site among Lions fans thirsty for more footy action is You Tube.
The video share site offers a plethora of Guiseley highlights past and present, including Danny Forrest’s corker against Harrogate Railway earlier this season.
To date this clip has amassed nearly 165,000 views. It sits neatly alongside everything from 1994/95 FA Cup highlights to last season’s play-off semi-final victory.
EBay is another popular site where the club pops up a lot.
Currently up for auction are items such as a Guiseley badge in Peru and a team sheet from a 2000/01 encounter with Farsley Celtic.
Global shopping empire Amazon features a 100 page paperback book about the club.
The BBC has an article about Non-League Day which features Guiseley prominently but also includes a picture error regarding our ground!
Official haunts for the Guiseley faithful include the Facebook and Supporters Club pages, as well as the Twitter and Supporters Club Twitter site.
Fans can check out local newspaper pages such as the Wharfedale Observer, Telegraph and Argus and Yorkshire Evening Post sites where archives of Guiseley articles are located.
We also have a Wikipedia profile detailing the club’s history, stadium, current squad and honours.
Among the more random sites Guiseley appears on is a Husky
Owners forum where a thread about last season’s Luton Town FA Trophy game can be found.
The Lions also have a ground review on the Ground Hog site and are featured in a Football Manager write up on the FM Base pages.
That’s it for this week folks.
Next week I will look ahead to the Cambridge game and look back to Transfer Deadline Day.
