Hello and welcome to the latest edition of my weekly blog.
This week I am saddened to report that I cannot review the Cambridge game due to the British weather.
The match has now been cancelled twice and things don’t look good for Tuesday’s rescheduled battle what with United’s match against Barrow tomorrow already postponed.
Our home league game with Solihull Moors has also fallen foul of the big chill.
This week then, I am focussing on the heated Premier League Championship scene.
It looks to be a two horse race between the two Manchester clubs but Tottenham have an outside chance in third.
City have a slim lead following their victory over Fulham and United’s comeback draw at Chelsea but they are still unfancied by many who doubt they can go the distance.
But City have commanded the top position since mid-October having won all their home games so far this season.
They just don’t look like losing yet United are keeping up the pressure and have the experience to take the title.
Some are saying ex-United star Darren Gibson’s recent winner for Everton over City is an omen for United to go all the way.
Even the top scorers can’t be separated. Rooney and Aguero are joint third highest Premier League hit men. City average 2.7 goals a game while United have struck 2.5.
Tottenham currently sit seven points behind City and it may only take a couple of slip ups from the two above them to get themselves right in with a chance.
It’s tough to predict even with the season reaching the crucial final three months.
Fans are enamoured with the battle between the two
Manchester sides. It is a race that has divided the nation.
I’d like to see someone different attain the title what with the winnings having been shared between United and Chelsea in recent years.
Here’s to a fabulous final three months in the Premier League season.
That’s it for this week folks.
Next week we will hopefully review the Cambridge game and look forward to the Hinckley game.
