Just remember which club started it all off though! Guiseley were the one and only club to play in the Lancashire League for some time and we are happy that there is a virtual Yorkshire Section to the league now. Harrogate Railway were also accepted last night so the East Division is now Bradford Park Avenue, Farsley Celtic, Guiseley, Harrogate Railway, Harrogate Town, Hyde, Ossett Albion, Ossett Town, Pontefract Collieries, Stalybridge Celtic, Thackley, Wakefield, Woodley Sports and Yorkshire Amateurs giving us 26 league games. If league games go well and the weather does not interfere too much there will also be a cup competition. The West Division is made up of: Bamber Bridge, Barrow, Burscough, Clitheroe, Darwen, Fleetwood Town, Formby, Lancaster City, Leigh RMI, Salford City, Workington and Chorley. Two more clubs may yet be accepted into this division. Tony Jackman of Barrow AFC received the Gary Parkinson Award for his services to the game a truly merited award for a thoroughly nice man. Tony was a great help to our Reserves when twice we had players badly injured there and when one had to remain in hospital up there with a broken leg he did everything he could in terms of visiting the player and helping sort things out for someone who was a long way from home. By the way to end all the speculation Guiseley Reserves have a new manager in former Guiseley player Vince Brockie, a EUFA B coach. The official announcement will follow shortly.

Yes Emley have resigned from the league but we look forward to playing all the 'new' teams from Yorkshire. I think we have just about taken over the league now! In fact if you take out the teams from Cheshire, Cumbria etc there are not many Lancashire teams left in. I for one don't miss those long journeys to Workington and Barrow but I do miss us playing at great grounds like Morecambe and Southport who have both left the league for the time being. We look forward to getting down to work in preparation for the new season and welcome all old and new players when training starts on July 7th. Most have been contacted but any who have been missed can contact me and I will give them details.

Vince Brockie a gentleman to his bones and GAFC stamped on his heart what more do we want,oh yes coaching skills in spades. Will we be paying him I certainly hope so! we've found the money for some rubbish in the past and this he certainly aint. Welcome home fella.

QUALITY SIGNING. This guy could still frighten a good few teams just by standing in the centre circle and make that menacing look let alone growl.
