HT Hem 0 G 0 FT Hem 1 G 0
Poor game for Guiseley who struggled against a physical Hemsworth side that put 10 men behind the ball. However Guiseley ran out of ideas on how to break this down and had very few clear chances. Hemsworth had probably 1 or 2 all game. The Hemsworth goal came from a goalkeeping error by Skiba.

Did we have a strong side out Richard?

Hemsworth played it like it was their Cup Final, and defended desperately at times, but it never looked like being our day, and was a pretty disappointing evening all way round.
One to put behind us I think, but it was only a friendly after all, and there'll be far, far better days than this to come...

Did we have a strong side out Richard? What was the team? Stood with OB and named about 80% of them - hopefully OB will publish this? cheers R

Oops! Predictable happening though after the Lord Major's show. I wouldn't even call it a hic-cup, simply a training session with bite.

It had a bit of 'jumpers for goalposts' feel about it, didn't it?

Okay then, here goes, though it'll be even more dependent on Wayne's corrections than usual! Skiba; ?? (Camfield, 46), ?? (Merris, 46); Pugh, Ellis (Husband, 72), Crossley (Cotterill, 46); ?? (Lloyd, 10), Dunne (Crooks, 46), Brown, Muller ( ??, 61), Tiani ( ??, 72). I'd rather see it as good practice against a hard-tackling and quick-closing side who weren't prepared just to admire our intricate passing moves - the type of opponents that caused us problems last season, particularly at Nethermoor. James H - or a similar replacement - was badly missed. I'd rather we took the lessons on board now rather than when the real stuff begins.

first game I have seen this season due to work commitments. In my opinion once we had replaced Muller and Tiani the attacking options all but petered out. Lee Crooks came on second half and looked a class above everyone else. Simple ball, intelligent running and a willingness to get stuck in are the key qualities that we seemed to lack last night.
Oh and for those who didn't go last night, problem with the floodlights is that Hemsworth don't have any! How you get in the NCE without any only they know.
