Following the circulation of a number of rumours, we wish to make the following announcement.

The above game, various reports of which have appeared not only on the Forum but on the main website and in the local press, did not actually take place. Yeadoner, Richard, Otleybard, Big J and others collaborated with Mr Wayne Benn to fabricate certain events, which they all now wish to admit were non-existent.

On the evening in question, the Guiseley team were in fact engaged in a pre-season practice match at Stamford Bridge against a full-strength Chelsea side; hat-tricks from James Hanson and Adam Muller and strikes from Ryan Crossley, Lee Crooks and Brice Tiani gave them a 9-1 win, the Chelsea consolation coming when Dave Merris was so overcome by the sight of Luiz Filipe Scolari in tears that he put through his own goal.

We can only apologise unreservedly for treating our loyal fans in such a cavalier fashion.

The game had to kick-off late as Chelsea were late arriving. Mr Scolari was navigating & reqularly had to stop & ask directions to the ground & everyone just kept uttering a famous snack bar in reply. "They'rea cuckney accents werea very unfamiliar" he is quoted to have said.
