It is first time we have played a League side in the FA Cup at Nethermoor. And now it's the first time we haven't lost to a league team. After a shaky first 10 minutes I thought we matched them, in fact their keeper made 3 or 4 really good saves. Nothing to fear in the replay and let's hope we have the incentive of a great 2nd round draw.

Great team performance. You can see why they’re doing well in their division but we matched them better than we could reasonably have expected and you could make a good case for their keeper being MotM.
Ash Palmer or Chris M’Boungou would be my choices from our team, closely followed by Hurst and Fondop, and Jonny M made a couple of ridiculous saves, but none of the starters had less than a good game.
And a great atmosphere. In fact, only the ref had a bad afternoon, and his job wasn’t made easy.
AND we just got a mention on 5 Live!

Really enjoyed today! Thought the Lions more than matched Stanley who it could be said were indebted to their keeper for his fantastic saves in the first half. Brought a couple of mates along from uni and they're keen to return so a good day all round; let's hope for a good draw and (regardless) a victory in the replay!

So proud of the lads today! The BBC Final Score said you wouldn’t believe that there were 42 places between the two teams and said Guiseley were resilient, well organised and played really well. Great pity we couldn’t get the winner at home but I’m looking forward to the replay at Accrington where I believe we can win the game! Come on you lions .

Well aside from their number 10 missing a sitter in the first minute there wasn’t much in it, in fact Guiseley probably shaded it, that has to be a big positive given Accrington’s current lofty league position. Early days, and only the second time I’ve seen you under Cox’s management, but he looks to have made a number of very good signings. Squad looking alot stronger.

Fantastic display from Guiseley. If it wasn’t for the referee giving Accrington a free kick every time a Guiseley player went near them they wouldn’t have had that much of the ball. Guiseley were well organised and kept to the game plan the manager set out. Well done everyone looking forward to the replay.

yes, a really great effort all round - hard to pick MoM. Fondop and Odejayi really troubled their defenders; it will be very hard away, but there might be a chance to use Fondop's pace on the break.

Agreed.
One of the worst refereeing performances we've seen this season. One of the best goalkeeping performances we've seen.
Best performance I've seen from Fondop - a real handful. Possibly the best game I've seen Hurst have for the club. Strong at centre back, and Jake looks to have developed some physicality.
Looking forward to my first trip to Accrington in 20 years.

Thought we matched the League Two promotion contenders in every department this afternoon and I think it's a measure of how far we have come under Paul Cox that we could have won it. Pressure is all now on Accrington with an additional game that they probably didn't want given their promotion push.

Another great team performance following on from the win at Woking last week. To play a good League 2 team and match them all over the field is something that just a few weeks ago would have been unimaginable. In the first 45 Accrington had most of the play but we had the better chances. The visitors should have took the lead in the first minute but somehow Jackson missed from a yard out when it was easier to score. They were all over us for the first 10 minutes or so but we held off from their relentless pressure. Somehow Chapman got down low to deny Fondop from breaking the deadlock with a header. Then Lawlor saw his head somehow tipped wide by the Stanley keeper when it looked destined for the top corner. A Hurst shot from the edge of the area took a hefty deflection but still Chapman back pedaled and tipped the ball over the crossbar. Three top notch saves to keep his side in the game. It wasn't quiet at our end too, Maxted made a couple of good saves whilst Mike Fondop was once again winning headers in the our area and we cleared a Stanley effort off the line. Going in level at half time was probably a fair reflection of the half. However how the score hadn't been broken is beyond me! The second half was quieter than the first with less chances created. Maxted superbly saved Palmer's deflection on to the bar and then flicked away the rebound. Another outstanding save in the game. Fondop too was denied once again by Chapman as his curled effort was saved by the visiting keeper. As the game wore on we became the better side and looked more likely to win it in the closing stages. It wasn't to be, we're in the hat tomorrow and we're off to Accrington Stanley the week after next for a replay. Well played Guiseley! Onto Garforth Town in the WRCC on Tuesday night now. Come on Guiseley! AB

Good performance from the lions, much more assertive under Cox's managership

Great all round yesterday, some fine individual performances. Good buzz around the ground, reminded me of Boxing Day last season. Clubhouse busy, with undoubtably the highlight being a visit from a couple of the players, and Coxy. Great to see that and long may it continue, we need to keep that link, as before with Kitty, Bowser and Locky. KGW
