GUISELEY 2 (Brown, 15, 27) Leeds United XI 1 (Ovington, 6)
Team: Skiba; Ellis, Merris; Burton, Cotterill (Williams, 76), Crossley; Tiani (Douglas, 75), Callery, Brown, Muller (Davey, 67), Whitehouse. Unused Sub: Morgan.
A neat run-out from an injury-hit Guiseley team against a United second string containing several players with first-team experience. Some classy individual performances, and SK looks like having a welcome problem deciding upon his first-choice strikers.

No problem. It was a good match, especially in the first half. Guiseley deserved the win I think and it looks good for the new season.

Excellant Game and Guiseley were the better team. I will have some video highlights ready to go online this evening and this game will be available on DVD. Just need to sort out the details with the club.

A good pre season win. Let’s hope James gets fit to give the Management a selection problem as the three main strikers look confident now. Deafened by the silence from our Farsley and BPA correspondents!

Deafened by the silence from our Farsley and BPA correspondents! R Leeds reses are not good, as us Harrogate and now you have proven all three beating them. and yes all three games had a mixture of first team and no hopers on show Leeds reses have dropped down the leagues this season and play in a league against the likes of york ect I would not read too much into that victory the real games start for u a week on saturday and us on saturday away to Stafford then followed by Fleetwood at home on tuesday 7.45 are they as naughty as everyone says these cod heads or just a bad reputation? Good luck for the season and lets hope that 2009 sees you still one step behind in conference north

We'd heard of the Fleetwood fans' reputation but can't say we had a problem with them, even when we nicked a point off them at Highbury late last season. And I don't think it was us who began taking the results of practice matches too seriously...

[Fleetwood at home on tuesday 7.45 are they as naughty as everyone says these cod heads or just a bad reputation? Funny how the only people that complain about Fleetwood are teams with less than whiter than white fans themselves (AFC Telford etc). If you look for trouble then you'll probably find it. We have never had a problem with Fleetwood fans, enjoying a beer with them at both grounds. Telford fans on the other hand......

Thought we played really well, And i eat my words about Brown upfront he looks class. it was well worth the trip as im sure so will Thursdays game. It was really good to catch up with Neil Thompson who i think is doing a great job with Leeds reserves and apart from losing to us have had a fantastic pre season beating the likes of Newport County etc. He commented on what a good set up it is at Guiseley. This pre season i have been very impressed with Dave Merris and Steve Burton. I'm sure we'll all agree a class left back is what has been missing up untill Mezza signed. And Steve Burton alongside Pugh for me could be the best centre mid outside the blue square prem. it shows what a quality squad Kitty And Benno have put together when the likes of Lee Crooks etc could be on the bench although i think Steve Burton and Lee Crooks are similer players and i think whoever starts will do a fantastic job. Also like to say well done Chris Davey for making the push into 1st team contention, He is Guiseley through and through and always gives 110% week in week out.
