Looks like the defence will have to be on it tonight, Gainsborough have scored 18 goals in their last 5 matches.
They also have ex Bradford City Clayton Donaldson playing up front who has over 400 appearances in the Football League, and scored a hat trick on Saturday.

Donaldson is a good player but I remember Brad Nicholson marked him out of the game v York once and he scored 1 goal in 31 matches at Bolton. We should be able to cope if we defend well

Good away point against a very good side - could have snatched it on the break, but they had cnances too. After the Blyth game Danny F said they might need to tinker with the squad. I like the players we have brought in. In front of me in the stand were Luke Dean, George Smith, JJ and Spencer Harris. Throw those 4 and Kellett into the mix and the squad looks strong.

We defended very well this evening and could have won it at the end but a draw was probably a fair reflection of the game as a whole. Mbeka added the bite that we have been missing in midfield and the loanee from Barnsley looked good especially in the second half when we looked far more dangerous with Qasim on the left after he was switched from the right flank when Nicky Walker went off. So why did we not start with the formation that finished Saturday's game at Hyde? If we had done we might have come away with three points instead of one. The defence also kept Clayton Donaldson quiet - incurring a couple of bookings in the process - which is no mean feat.

Very satisfactory point away from home. Really impressed by Qasim, Haw, and Walker, and pleased to see Lebrun back, he hasn’t missed a beat. Cassidy kept the defenders occupied, and at the other end I don’t think (goal aside) Scott had a save to make. Gainsborough look a decent side with pace and strength and width, so to keep them quiet on their home ground is something to be pleased about. Would’ve been too much to ask of the football gods for Donald Chimalilo’s audacious lob to beat the keeper late on, I suppose. Definitely worth the trip!

I thought it was a good performance and very encouraging considering we had a new centre mid partnership. I think we stifled Gainsborough and while they had longer spells in our half than we did in theirs we were always threatening on the counter attack. Some strong individual performances too, Haw, Qasim, Sikora and Ible amongst them for me.
I feel realistically happy with where we are at this point in time, mid table but could be higher and I feel that when we have to change things the managers are making good calls.
Looking forward to Saturday!

A really tight game last night and a point picked up that I would have taken before the game. The first half was very limited on chances but it was the hosts who shaded it really. We had the first opportunity though when a clearance fell to Adam Haw who shot quickly to take advantage of Yates being off his line but his shot dropped just wide. The next chance came from Donaldson who hit the outside of a post with a shot from a tight angle. The game really struggled produce anything of note for the next 20 minutes when Durose shot over. Cassidy had the next opportunity a minute later but his shot from the edge of the box sailed well over. Qasim nearly opened his account for the club but shot wide, he didn't have to wait much longer though. A scrappy clearance fell to Qasim who rifled the ball past Yates to give us the lead. A good time to score with five minutes left. Seven minutes into the second half though Gainsborough equalised through Waldock's finish at the end of a good move. We had a couple of good chances shortly after, first Walker forced Yates into a good stop and from corner Walker crossed for Qasim but he volleyed over. Haw had another effort at the end of a great run but Yates saved the shot. As the game was coming to a close Qasim had another opening but his shot just got deflected wide. Cadman nearly scored direct from a corner but Yates made a good stop. That was that, a good point at the end of a good performance with Joe Ackroyd looking particularly impressive. Well played Guiseley! Onto a clash with Warrington Rylands at Nethermoor on Saturday! Come on Guiseley! AB
