Buoyed by a very positive and upbeat Meet The Managers evening let’s get behind the boys on Saturday and get 3 points.
We need to start on the front foot like we did against Whitby and let Belper worry about us not us worry too much about Belper and end up chasing the game.

A well deserved win this afternoon, the early goal set the tone. Nicky Walker finished well after just 56 seconds with the first shot and attack of the entire game. Mbeka, Chippendale and Qasim all had shots blocked just five minutes later as we looked to double or lead. Belper had a chance shorlty after but Manghan couldn’t beat Trenerry. Walker came so close to doubling his tally but Moore made a good save with his leg. Qasim and Ackroyd both nuts over but I was Ackroyd who was tripped in the box. Callum Chippendale sent Moore the wrong way from the spot on his Lions debut. Belper pulled one back instantly before the ref went on a strange booking spree as the half came to a close. Qasim nearly got his first of the afternoon when he flicked Vaughan’s cross just wide. He didn’t have to wait long into the second half though to get his goal, a great finish which smacked the post on its way in. Qasim nearly doubled his tally for the afternoon but Moore made a good save as his shot was destined for the top corner. Chippendale forced Moore into a save with a header. The game petered out from there but it was a comfortable win to cap off a good performance. Qasim was excellent once again and Chippendale looked good on debut but this was a true team performance. Well played Guiseley! Onto FC United of Manchester at home on Tuesday night. Come on Guiseley! AB

Good performance today. Brilliant goals from Nicky Walker and Mo Qasim. Good penalty from. Callum Chippendale. We sat back a bit too much in the last twenty for my liking but I genuinely don’t recall Trennery being overly troubled. Mbeka and Ellis excellent at centre half. Good performances all round. Lovely ground and setting. Very happy!

Good all round performance from Guiseley. For me Mbeka was MOM great display along side Danny Ellis. We started on the front foot again like we did against Whiby and it payed off with a goal in the first minute. great confidence boosting performance well done to all. Onwards and upwards.

Very satisfying performance yesterday. Started strong, got ourselves in front and managed the game from there. Bit of a patched up defence (oh, how we need to catch a break with injuries!) was unlucky to concede the goal they did, through a crowd of players, Trenerry unsighted. Hope the knock Cassidy took isn’t too bad and he was brought off as a precaution. All well taken goals, and we even scored a penalty! Are you sure we weren’t dreaming?

Good value for the win with a patched up side and Callum Chippendale looked very useful -see JJ scored for Matlock - and with players returning things are on the up. Tough test on Tuesday though against the league leaders. Only the second time I've been to Belper but what a superb setting.

It wasn’t a faultless performance but I thought we acquitted ourselves very well given absences at the back. New signing Chippendale looked handy and got himself into the right positions on numerous occasions. Great finish by Qasim for the third goal. All in all a very decent showing and good to go into a tricky mid-week encounter with some confidence.
