A uncharacteristic performance from us last night after playing so well over recent weeks but it was clear the injuries had an effect on the side. The first half was fairly even with very little between the two teams but the second 45 was one way traffic for the visitors and with better finishing they would have had a comfortable away win. Ross Daly came the closest for us in the first half was a shot which stung the palms of Waller in the away goal before Murphy blazed the rebound over the bar. That was about as good as it got for us, we did have a few other openings but Waller was relatively untested for the rest of the half. Mason was quiet up the other end too with Lancaster coming closest in the closing stages when Bailey fired just wide of the post, they did have a one on one too which Mason comfortably saved. The second half was one way traffic for the visitors who wasted so many opportunities to wrap up a good victory. They were on the backfoot at the start of the half though when Chippendale set up half-time sub Haw who saw his shot well saved by Waller. That was the closest we came but had to count our lucky stars that Lancaster looked like the Lions last season when it came to finishing off chances. They had four or five clear opportunities to break the deadlock but blew them all. Best to move on to the visit of Radcliffe on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

Disappointing night last night but ultimately a good point given we should have lost by 3 or 4. We finally have a good keeper under contract. What is also evident is we have a small squad I have to say and I accept i may be in the minority but I didn’t like PP’s interview. Some will say he was being honest but slamming players so openly rarely improves them. Similarly, his changes at H-T made us worse which is not the first time - Bamber Bridge for example.

Paul comes straight out of the dressing room to do his interviews where some previous managers would have us waiting 40 minutes before we could go home.
If you listen to Tuesday's interview, he actually calms down while he's talking. He starts off steaming, talking about the players being the problem, and by the end he's more reflective, saying they gave it everything but were so depleted from the recent intense schedule and so hamstrung with people playing out of position that they can't be expected to push on and win every game.
FWIW I was surprised that the half time change didn't help. It seemed to make sense to get only one or two players out of position rather than several and in a new system. But CMW never looked comfortable and once Chippendale was gone we had no quality on the ball.

I like this interview - shows he wants success and not willing to tolerate poor performances.
