This might seem like a daft question, but do we know if the fact that Marine have a plastic pitch could mean the game could be on tomorrow? I assume it’s just a matter of getting as many hands on deck and working like, errr, marines to sweep all the white stuff to the side.
Is this as barmy an idea as it sounds? I’m just thinking that I had a really excellent Holland’s pie the last time I went there, and I wouldn’t mind another. I know that Morrisons sell Holland’s pies, but they don’t do football matches to accompany them so I might pop over to Crosby if it’s on….

Going by the forecast they weren’t hit as hard as us, and the temperatures are heading toward double figures this weekend. Probably better chance of it going ahead there then if it were at Nethermoor!

Could have more to do with overnight temperatures due to get down into minus double figures here and the players, staff etc getting here tomorrow morning & then travelling across the Pennines.

We decided to make a weekend of it and hopefully attend the game tomorrow. Its cold here in Liverpool but virtually no snow so unless there is a bad night, im optimistic the game will be on tomorrow, especially given the 3G pitch gives us more chance

An excellent three points today to bounce back from the last few disappointing results. The first half was really drab, both sides struggled to create anything with Mason and Passant being very quiet. We had a couple of half chances but nothing really standout in the opening half. Marine had a lot of the ball but didn’t do a lot with it until the final 15 minutes or so. They were cranking up the pressure and made their domination count in the final minute when former Lion Mark Howarth finished well. The second half started with the hosts on top and it looked as if it could be a long day. Hodgkinson had a glorious chance to double his side’s lead but somehow his header didn’t go in, it hit the post and Boateng in the line before Mason gathered. Five minutes later we were level, Whitham who sadly was withdrawn injured, made an excellent cameo and won us a corner. Hey’s delivery found Murphy who stretched to head past Passant, a great finish into the top corner. We had come alive, Smales-Braithwaite was put through on goal but Passant made a good save low down to his left. Then Hey struck the post with a free kick which had the home keeper beaten all ends up but unfortunately it didn’t cross the line. Bakkor was next face Passant one on one but his shot was stopped by the keeper, a big chance. Into the final 10 we went with Marine pushing hard for a crucial winner but Smales-Braithwaite showed his class to win it. His first goal saw Passant lobbed exquisitely to give us a late winner, the keeper had dashed well off his line. He didn’t end his scoring there though, he powered a curled shot past Passant to add gloss to the win. Not our best performance for most of the game but the second half of the second half saw us back to our best. Well played Guiseley! Onto Warrington Rylands away next week. Come on Guiseley! AB

Brilliant afternoon! Great awayday - good atmosphere and great goals. Delighted for Murphy (brilliant corner from Lewis Hey), Smales-Braithwaite looked unleashed in the second half - a real raw talent. Only downside has to be Whithams knee injury reoccurring. Important win. Gives some momentum and certainly looked as though the belief returned in that second half. Very happy.

Really pleased with today. The first half wasn’t an easy watch. Marine looked really good in the opening passages and we struggled to get near to them. Sadly Machada struggled and Phillips made the correct, if difficult, decision to substitute him. However, we turned things around in the second half and I think that was down to the introduction of Lewis Whitham. His confidence to take defenders on inspired others ( Smailes-Braithwaite to name one of a few) to do the same which changed the complexion of the game, and we deservedly got the three points. Marine are a difficult team at home as well, not counting today they have only lost four times there this season. Good to see Lewis Hey back as well, a quietly impressive performance. Marine were friendly and welcoming hosts as well.

I have seen games when sides have scored 3 late goals but rarely as today when there was no hint of it before. We can't get carried away after 20 mins great play but some real positives. Lewis Hey was very constructive, there were 2 sublime finishes by BSB and Cass has a strong case for MoM even though he only played 15 minutes. He really knitted things together. Ģood to see Murphy score too. A great pity that Whitham went off. He sparked the recovery. I will remember that last 20 but I won't forget that first 70 unless we take that last 20 forward

The goals look even better on the replay. Murphy’s header is even more impressive than I remember stretching back to head goalward is great. The two injury time goals from Smales-Braithwaite are brilliant. Very enjoyable.
