Although, I am not the manager and it’s not my decision, I think he should call a halt to all the incoming players arriving at the club for this season. To be honest the manager did well with new signings incl. loanees etc when he first arrived but the most recent signings seem to have been more ‘miss’ than ‘hit’. They also look a bit desperate! Okay, there’s been a lot of injury and suspension, but hopefully we’ve now got enough in the squad to play out the remaining games without any more newcomers. On season’s end, that will be the time for the manager to make the big decisions Ie who’s staying, going and who will bring some real improvement to the side. These decisions need to be made with wisdom and reflection and there should be the time to do so patiently and fruitfully. In fact, the manager’s job next season, will probably depend on it!

Definitely a frustrating result. We had a list of all the injured players, those unavailable, and those suspended and you could make quite a team out of them. Although we lost, and I was pretty irritated that we had yesterday, I'm coming round to putting it down as just one of those days. We were excellent in the first half despite the makeshift nature of the team. The ref made the wrong call on the foul on Kallan Murphy and Wilson (who then scored later), should have been walking. BSB looked impressive again and I liked his willingness to shoot - twice hitting the woodwork has to go down as bad luck.
Had they been down to ten, or had we gone in front at any point, I think we would have rolled on to win comfortably. It was like a cup upset yesterday. They seemed a nice bunch at Belper and I wish them well, but sadly they will go down which is a shame as I enjoyed our visit there earlier in the season.
We have a couple more games at Nethermoor and hopefully can use them well to learn more about the players who will be with us next year. I think it will be a pre-season of change again. We have had a high player turnover, and it can be hard to keep up with it, but this might be more to a mid season managerial change. If we have a settled period then we might develop a stronger unit with players that match PPs demands. We have averaged around 1.6 pts per match compared to 1.16 under the Danny's so they have created a platform that should attract the stronger players in this division. We must be serious playoff contenders next season in my view.
Onwards and upwards!

While yesterday's result was very disappointing, given the precarious position we've typically been in at this stage of the season over the last few years, there's nothing to be despondent about, and we can look forward to making a serious challenge for promotion next season.

Echoing what's been said above, I think it's problematic to use so many players in a season (if only because I can't keep track of who is who!). I think the issue we had is that we bought badly in the summer, probably paying wages over and above what we should have expected to pay. The manager has moved on almost all of the summer arrivals and in my opinion has brought in better quality. This at the moment is with scrapping around for what is available. Outside of pre-season this means fishing for scraps and some players won't come off. I think the manager deserves a good crack at pre-season and I am positive that this will work out. If we are still churning through new players every game new season I'd have to question the managers approach. He does say that he wants to build a team though so I think this season is hopefully an aboration.
Key thing for the summer.. we need to give CMW the freedom of Guiseley's fish and chip shops. If he loses a bit of timber, he'll not be signing up for Guiseley next season! He could play a level or two above with the quality he has.

I think this is basically where I've landed on the whole thing. (Excellent use of "fishing for scraps" before your CMW point, by the way) For all the professionalisation of non league football, I'd still pick quite a few of our 2010 Unibond-winning team over most of the options we've tried this season. But we had a better budget relative to other teams back then. And there will always be a lot more player turnover in this division than NLN, but if we're doing wholesale changes in the autumn then that'll be when alarm bells should ring. For now, it's just curious.

Think he wants to play three at the back with wingbacks and certain players don't fit that formation hence why several have moved on and hopefully he, Russ and James can get the players in for next season. In the meantime it's immensley frustrating watching us at present.
