However much we might have worried about 'only playing for half an hour' today, can we just turn it round ever so slightly and say that today we 'only played for half an hour' yet were still able to notch up, six (Yes, SIX) goals, and we're already two points clear at the TOP of the league with only three games played...
Now, ask yourself this:
Is there anyone at all amongst our number who wouldn't have grabbed this with two very eager hands if we'd been offered this just seven or eight days ago? Every other team in the Unibond League would gladly swap with us right now, so why don't we just enjoy it, and really get behind the team on Monday and make it a brilliant 12 out of 12?
Go for it Guiseley!!

Cant agree that we only played well for 30 mins today,as ive said on the other thread in my opinion we played very well for 60 mins and very badly for 30.What we must do is learn to close games out with a minimum of fuss. The good thing is guys is that there is much room for improvement, especially defencively and im not just talking about the back 3 or 4.Ihave to say at times going forward we look sensational and i think this can get better too as our leading scorer from last year is still not fully fit. What we will be stressing to the lads is to keep their feet on the ground, things can change very quickly in this league but for now were doing ok.

a win is a win to score 6 away regardless of who the opposition is is a great result.we will gel and get cohesion at the back, yep its a worry but the backs are good enough to start geling before we come up against a good side.the 3 we have played are not going to be in the mix come the backend of the season so 9 out of 9 is everything we could have asked for.witton i think will tell us where we are in regards of the way we are playing as they the strongest side we will have come across.keep going lads.

Still think Matlock will pose a bigger threat than Witton as the former like a physical battle and the latter a far more flowing attacking game. However, there is no reason to fear either as the first three games have shown that the team can give and take whatever is thrown at them and play a bit as well for good measure. The biggest fear should be complacency and not playing for 90 minutes.

Yes i think you have it spot on Jon - Matlock will be tough but beatable - they will treat it like a cup final to try knock off our unbeaten record - but we have no need to fear anyone. Feet on the ground - play for 90 mins and finish the game off.

you've played 3 out of the bottom 5 and while they all need beating there are sterner tests to come

Fair point, but if they'd beaten us they wouldn't be in the bottom five...

I think now we have it the dizzy heights (top of the league)every team in the league, will want to try to beat or even take a point of us..But this team, seems so much stronger in every department, and in time will get even stronger..Yes we have let in goals, which on paper seems very unlikely with our back 3 of Crossley,Cotty and Ellis..I know in time this partnership will be the envy of the premier league!!! And our strikers (10 in 3)yet to get out of third gear, well things are looking lets say, rosy..Oh by the way Wayne,Burton and Crooks are different class in the middle of the park ,On-wards and Upwards and, and please 3 points tomorrow.................................................................

The only thing that worries me is that at home away teams will play with 10 men behind the ball and look to hit us on the counter and the only thing we lack is pace at the heart of our defence is pace, in the air and physically were better than anyone but 3 wins out of 3 is great but we have sterner tests to come? ;D

Some good comments above but several added points. For any side to play three at the back then they need at least one preferably two pacey lads who can cover the wings or ball over the top which teams will try to exploit in that system. Whether you meet top or bottom teams early on its important to get on a roll of consistently good form and, where possible, a winning mentality. If we step into September unbeaten, hopefully with 15 points, then we should be ready and more settled into a desired formation, extending form and playing good football front and back. Equally, it gives the strikers extra time to take goals instead of making them. So I don't see any rush to prove we are worthy of being league leaders at this stage.
