To be blunt, if we had been performing like we have in the last half dozen games, I don’t think it would have been at all certain Paul Philips would have been given the thumbs up for next season, and many more games/results like these and the thumbs will be twitching towards a downwards direction. On the match commentary, the commentator said some of the players “didn’t even look interested” and surely that has got to be absolutely unacceptable. PP needs to get the ‘ship’ steadied and fast. We were described in the club programme a few home matches ago by the Chair as “a very good side”, but that now looks a laughable statement to have made. We need to get a grip and start battling for every point. The players, the management owe it to the fans who turn up regularly, some away as well as home, not to embarrass us on Saturday as they have most certainly done recently. Today’s commentator for example sounded as if he was pretty fed up with what he was describing, varying between boredom and obvious annoyance, and couldn’t wait for the whole sorry debacle to end. After the final whistle he got off air noticeably ultra- fast! If we battle and get beaten by a better side okay, but giving up the ghost cannot ever be seen to be accepted! And the manager has to get this over to the team. 5 goals and 5 points from the past 8 games. It's relegation stuff. And the scorer of 4 of those goals is now banned. Season tickets were bought on wave of goodwill following the appointment of a club legend as manager. I don't know that the goodwill is going to be there this summer.

Wouldn’t be too hung up on what our volunteers say on commentary. I couldn’t listen in yesterday but have definitely been guilty of over-egging good and bad performances many times. Hard not to sometimes when you’re a fan and you’ve made the trip.

Luckily in football, there is usually ‘another game’. Let’s hope for a better performance, from team, referee and of course, result, on Saturday 8 April at home!

Didnt go yesterday but sounds like another indifferent performance. Still find it hard to believe players don't try, think its more confidence is low, new players need time to gel, we can't seem to find the net even when creating good chances.
Obviously losing key players to injuries and others suspended doesn't help. For me the strange thing is good performances against strong team, (Shields, Marine) yet our last 7 or 8 games are against sides below us and we are poor and lose. We are creating chances though and a bit more luck and results could have been different, (any of our 1st half efforts v Belper and I'm sure we'd have taken 3 points).
Problem is our next couple of games are against sides deep in relegation battle, so they will be well up for it and we need to be able to at least match that intensity. If not, its probably the current results will continue. Hopefully not.
