Website:
www.marinefc.com/ But if you're a bit titchy, it's better to get someone to go and keep an eye on you...and don't take your scarf, and don't let 'em hear that you're a Yorkie!
Forum:
forums.icnorthwest.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=42 Unofficial, but reachable via a link in the main site. Hey, just like ours!...Don't grin like that on their Forum though!
Last few times v Guiseley:
Amazingly, given how much they worry me, we did the double over them last year and quite deservedly so. Always hard opponents though, and always look really big and tough...Holland's Pies in their snack bar but, again, don't venture in alone, and try to mumble if you can so as not to let 'em know you're one of our lot...
News from the close season:
Signed a few, let a few go etc etc...the usual stuff, and I thought I was being really silly in imagining them being really tough until I read this report on their website about their game at Frickley Athletic:
"A minute before the game the two teams came together to shake hands as part of the FA's new Respect policy. A minute into the game, following a foul on Kevin Lynch, the two teams came together to shake throats as part of the players' disrespect policy..."
Heck!...
What we do think of them and/or how much do they annoy us:
I've always held vivid personal images of them spending foul nights at sea in terrible storms and then sailing into port in high winds and freezing rain and lashing their boat's steel hausers to the harbour capstans with frozen and bloodied hands. I then imagine them having breakfasts of frozen pilchards washed down with mugs of steaming tea before they head off for Fort Nethermoor with a steely determination wrought of years at sea whilst we're at home being very soft and sleepy in our cozy little beds.
What's their Forum like?
It's great! Respect!...Best I've ever seen!...(Mumble this whilst sidling out towards door...)
Likely prospects this season:
Even alllowing for the fact that I've always felt uncomfortably jittery when they're around - be it their players being in and around our area, or any of their supporters be in close proximity to me - they still retain a potent threat unless you really do the 'silver bullet and the stake through the heart thing' just to make sure they're really, really beaten and won't be back...
But seriously, folks!:
Their star man - and their own special 'Get out of jail card' man is, of course, the ever reliable 'Worth his Weight in Goals' (I just made that one up!) Neil Cumiskey, but we've got our own 'heavy artillery' now, so I reckon we'll be OK when we meet. Bet they finish there or thereabouts again this time though and will, as always, be hard opponents; usually tough, but usually fair and always very competitive and always hard to beat...

Next: Someone slightly less intimidating and tough; Probably Leigh, or someone else like that..
