Curzon Ashton game on Saturday 15 July at Nethermoor has been pulled from the schedule so the second pre-season game is now at Thackley on Tuesday 18 July. What was the reason for the Curzon Ashton game getting pulled? |

A shame that the Barnsley game has been cancelled, particularly at such short notice after plenty of work has been put in by all the volunteers and staff at the club ahead of the game. It has come completely out of the blue as it was only on Monday Barnsley said they would bring a stronger side than initially expected. Good find, it was 4-2 according to their Twitter page. No idea of the kind of team we fielded. Can anyone at the club provide more info on this? Would be nice to know who played/scored etc at least? |

I’m a bit alarmed by this result, especially as we only drew 1-1 at Thackley the other day. I’d echo Lighty691’s request for a bit of background around this. |

Game was played in a 3G cage at a local college hence no spectators and I asked James about it yesterday but he didn't attend so it will remain undocumented. BPA beat Thackley 3-1 on Saturday and then lost 5-2 at Campion on Tuesday so pre-season results are no guide to what potential league form might be.

According to the club website, a practice game was played at Nethermoor against Thackley, and as can be seen in the accompanying photos, there were a few people watching the game. A couple of the photos suggest that Tom Denton doesn't might getting stuck in.
I agree that it's a bit early to be hitting the panic button. |

Last season we were brilliant in the friendlies and mediocre once the season started. I’m done reading anything into the results.

When will the squad list and photos be updated on the GAFC web site? Squad list - I would guess when Adam has chance or when some of the ones who aren’t finalised yet are sorted, whichever is later. (Photos aren’t usually done until the start of the season or they have a habit of being incorrect/incomplete immediately!) |

Please let’s not panic about a glorified training session that involved a huge amount of players and lots of changes and was played in three 30 minute sections. It was more of a fitness exercise than a game. Pre season results are irrelevant at the best of times, behind closed doors training sessions doubly so.
