That was an excellent game of football to watch tonight, and I think the team is looking sharp and keen and very competitive now.
There’s a bit of a buzz around Nethermoor this season already, and whilst I took some convincing at first, I’m very, very tempted to say ‘in Paul Phillips we trust’….

Three wins from three with a well taken goal and we only had half a side out tonight.

I noted we had someone called Joe Stacey playing for us (as per the team sheet) is he a new signing? I think I missed the announcement on him if so? Thanks

Thanks You’ve not missed an announcement to my knowledge! He played as Trialist away at Thackley I think, so I wondered the same about him getting his own name.

Disappointed I couldn’t make last night’s game, but pleased to see the team seem to have done very well. Would like to see Guiseley line-up v Farsley Celtic on Saturday, looking more like it will in the opening league game ie minus most of the trialists, but we’ll see. Sorry to miss seeing Alex Purver, one of my favourite Lions from previous seasons, IF he played last night. Did he feature for Scarborough and if so, how did he perform?

Another good win last night in what was a closely fought match with chances for either side. It was Scarborough who came closest to breaking the deadlock first though but an effort from Green dropped just wide. They also were denied by a couple of goal line clearances stopping Mulhern and Thornton from striking against their former club. Tongue also forced the visiting keeper into a save from a free kick. The only goal of the game came in the last minute of the half when Mulhern's sloppy backpass was intercepted by Trialist B who rounded the keeper and slotted into the empty net. The second half was more of the same really, both sides looked organised but it was Thornton who was once again denied by a goal line clearance. We had a couple of opportunities too but couldn't add to our tally. Another good performance and good win at Nethermoor! Well played Guiseley! Onto Farsley at home on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB
