We've had a series of not particularly successful, relatively short-term appointments in recent years. Other posters seem to have already settled for mid-table obscurity as an acceptable outcome for this season. I'm fed up with the recent series of relegations or near misses. I think we should be challenging for promotion. I'd rather the board took their time to secure the right person.
Remember the old adage: Marry in haste, repent at your leisure.

My suspicion is that there has been a shortage of decent candidates and one or more people we have approached have declined the offer. As there is no communication from the Board we can only speculate. We have all been fortunate in that recent results have been good, but the next few matches are against better quality opposition than of late and my view is that we needed an appointment before we got to those trickier fixtures. Surely the Board had a plan when they dispensed with Paul Philips? I struggle to believe it was take five weeks or longer to appoint a successor.

I don't understand what supporters expect the board to reveal when they are in negotiations for a new employee in a senior position.
We can be fairly confident they are looking for a new manager. What more can they say beyond that?

What more can they say beyond that? The question is though whether they are in negotiations. That itself would be news

Thank goodness, whatever is expected of football managers or owed by them to the clubs they manage these days, something resembling a marriage contract is NOT required! It is fair to say though, that for some managers their stay at their club amounts to such brevity that their departure could be considered the equivalent of an annulment!!!

Extricating oneself from any contract, marital or not, long- or short-term, annulment or otherwise, can still be an extremely expensive and painful process.
I'd rather we wait for the Board to try and get the best person they can for the job in the first place. However, I appreciate that there are no guarantees in life - except death and taxes.

Like you, I expected (and still hope for) a promotion challenge and will wait for the right candidate but like others, I’m baffled by lack of progress and lack of communication even if it was a bland statement such as “Liam will remain in charge until an appointment is made, we anticipate that this will be in the near future”. The lack of communication makes us speculate - Can’t help wondering if they’re waiting for BPA to sack Bowser which is surely close

My reactive comment to yours was actually meant to be a joke-not to be taken seriously! But, I do agree with you in so far as Guiseley are under more pressure this time to get this next appointment right. There’s been a number of mistakes made over the last few years. If taking time helps to avoid another one, so be it!
