I have to say to my knowledge this wasn't our biggest ever win as the Ilkley goal scuppered equalling that record. Our biggest win 10-0, was achieved in the same competition, also at Nethermoor, on Saturday 11th January 1986, against Fryston Colliery Welfare. In those days we hadn't installed floodlights(not long afterwards though) and so ties had to be played on a Saturday. Our scorers that day were:-Richard Nuttall 4,Micky Mattock 2, Mally Wright 2, Micky Wood and Lee Burrows both with one each. Ironically Mally Wright was watching the game on Tuesday evening along with former players, Paul Gartland and Joe McPhee and it was good to catch up with them in the bar afterwards. I understand they are planning to hold a players reunion at the Hyde match in early December. We went out in the following round the following week at home to Harrogate Town. The Fryston match had been in doubt as the pitch was covered in nearly a foot of water but a pump was obtained to ensure the match went ahead. The previous week we had played our replay with Newcastle Blue Star in heavy conditions, which we lost after nearly pinching it on Tyneside, in which Fifaa referee, George Courtney had taken charge.

We got 10 against Fryston a few years later in the county cup. Ian Noteman scored 4 that day.

Sorry we only scored 8 in that one without reply. As you say Ian Noteman did net 4, Mick Wood 2 with Paul Bottomley and sub. Mark Russell getting the other two on Sat.12th Nov. 1988 against Fryston in the WRCC.
