Neil Shackleton 29/04/62 - 19/10/23
Having received a call from Emma,it is with a heavy heart I pass on the news that Neil sadly passed away this week.
Neil came to Guiseley AFC during the time when the club was playing in the National League North.He became involved as a director and was Chairman for a short time.
Neil was a lovely caring person,full of life,who enjoyed engaging in banter with the supporters and players after games in the clubhouse.
Our thoughts and love are with Emma and Beverley at this very sad time

I was really sad to read this news earlier on Emma's Facebook, my thoughts are with her and Neil's family and friends.
Neil was such a kind man who did loads for Guiseley when he was involved here, I remember him organising a surprise signed shirt for me for my 18th birthday, he went to a lot of effort all in his last game which he was involved with us.

Great guy who treated everyone as an equal and will be sorely missed by those who knew him. I think he was the one who was instrumental in getting the dressing rooms refubished whe we did the stadium up. Saw him at Emley, last season I think, where he had become involved and it was just like we'd seen each other a couple of weeks ago, thats the kind of person he was.RIP Neil.

This is a great point bigj, Neil left a big legacy at Nethermoor including the signage, tunnel, dressing rooms, dugouts and so much more. A great man who did a lot of good for this football club. Neil’s funeral will take place on Wednesday 15th November from 2pm at St Michael’s Church, Church Street, Emley, Huddersfield, HD8 9RW.
All are welcome to attend to pay tribute to Neil.
There is also a section in Saturday's programme dedicated to Neil as bigj digs into his archive of photos from renovation works that took place at Nethermoor a decade ago.
