A point gained today I think given we fell behind twice but battled back. The afternoon started with a minute's applause to pay tribute to Brian Dove who passed away last month, it was a fitting way to honour Brian. Hyde started the stronger of the two sides and struck early through Harry Bunn's composed finish after just eight minutes. We did come close to equalising soon after but Denton's header was cleared off the line. The returning Tongue then shot wide from the edge of the box and Redshaw went close a few minutes after. Then we won a penalty, Denton was pulled to the floor in the area but the ref pointed for a free kick. After discussions with his assistant the decision was changed and a spot kick was awarded but Johnson couldn't beat Waller in the away goal who made a good stop. Battersby had to make a last ditch stop when a Hyde attacker was put through one on one with him but the keeper dashed off his line and made himself big. Nsaka had a massive chance in the closing stages of the first half but he scuffed his free shot straight into Waller's hands. We looked a far better side in the second 45 and were level just two minutes in when Kendall whipped a delicious strike into the far corner, a stunning goal from the defender. Then after a settled period in the game Hyde struck back when Bunn got his second firing past Battersby after getting on the end of Redshaw's cross. Kendall nearly got a stunning second with a powerful drive that flew just over Waller's bar. With 18 minutes left we were level again when Johnson's shot was blocked but up stepped Ekpolo to continue his recent scoring run with a calm finish. It only looked as if one side were going to win it from there but Hyde defended well. Johnson thought he had won it when his shot beat Waller but a visiting defender booted the ball clear off the line. In injury time Denton fired just wide in the final chance of a tight afternoon. Well played Guiseley! Onto Garforth Town away on Tuesday night. Come on Guiseley! AB

I enjoyed today even though I was frustrated with aspects of our performance. I don’t think I’ve seen a softer goal than their opener. We stood off far too much. I thought we fought hard after that and deserved a draw at least. In fact I think we had the better of the chances. However Hyde were dangerous on the counter.
I think the referee was excellent today. Needed a strong official who was willing to think about decisions before jumping to an outcome.
Shame we had suffered with postponements. I think a sharper team would have won today. Not the result we wanted but undoubtedly an entertaining game in front of a good crowd. Plenty of positives.

Not at our best today but showed resilience to come back twice and a draw was probably about right.
We continue to look soft at the back but good going forward although Gabs is now getting shackled by the opposition.
Crowd was well down on last season’s corresponding fixture.
Leeds at home and Christmas shopping probably key factors.
Hopefully a bumper crowd on Boxing Day.

Definitely not at our best - both goals conceded were poor defending and I thought we were outgunned in midfield in the first half. Second half was better with the addition of Whelan in midfield and we had enough chances to win the game but I thought a draw was a fair result. That will be a decent point if we make the most of the next four matches which are all against teams in the bottom six, while many of the teams in the top eight have matches against each other. I thought the bench looked very thin today - if we are going to challenge for the playoffs we need two or three more players in my view. We are bound to pick up injuries over the coming weeks.

Thought a draw a fair result in an enjoyable to watch game . Did think the bench was a little lightweight is Chippendale injured? The other loanee from Oldham(Forshaw?) is he also injured?

First half showed that we hadn't played for two and a half weeks but we recovered our momentum after the break and couod have won it had the penalty gone in but on the balance of play a draw was probably a fair result.

Callum Chippendale picked up a slight injury in training last week, he said he should be ok for tomorrow night. AB
