Interesting that both NPL & Whitby's website have this game as a 3pm kick-off tomorrow. I assume this is a mistake and it should be 7.45pm, as if the game is on, the supporters coach is leaving Nethermoor 1.5 hrs after kick-off !

Rallyman It is a mistake on the NPL website, which Whitby have told the league about but it is yet to be rectified, as Whitby's site pulls information from there they cannot change the time on their site. Feel sorry for the players and supporters! Surely a pitch inspection/ decision could have been taken earlier so fans didn’t have a wasted journey. Safe journey home Lions supporters and players.🦁🥶❄️

Just leaving Whitby having driven up here for the game, arrived in the ground at 7.35 and the match was called off at 7.38 by the referee for a ‘frozen’ pitch!!! Both teams had been through their warm ups and were ready to play, the playing surface looked fine, surprisingly good for Whitby actually and the referee decided there was a narrow strip on one side of the ground of about 20 yards which was very firm although it had been sanded and both teams were aware of it and were happy to play. What an absolute joke and a total waste of time and money thanks to the officials. The referee is from Middlesbrough so at least he will be home soon!!! A total embarrassment for the NPL in my view. Very annoyed.

Totally unacceptable to be called off two minutes before kick-off, ref ought to have to reimburse the expenses of GAFC players, officials and supporters. Presume the officals didn't check the weather forecast?

Ridiculous. Feel really sorry and angry for those who have travelled and are now out of pocket. Absolutely no respect shown to players and fans when it was pretty obvious this decision that could have been taken days ago

One can only assume Whitby who know their own pitch didn't feel it necessary to ask for an earlier pitch inspection and the officials didn't do a warm up on that self same pitch before coming to their decision . In these circumstances I don't know who the onus is on but I'd be feeling pretty annoyed if I was part of the Guiseley contingent.

Our travelling Supporters' Club Members should band together and sue the referee for compensation in the Small Claims Court. What a precedent that would set!!!

I blame Whitby. There should have been an early inspection in the prevailing conditions. No idea whether the ref was right or not, but don't give him a chance to mess things up that late. I believe James phoned a number of times for assurances that the game was on and was told that the pitch was frozen but thawing. Credit to our players - they went into a training session.

Blame lies firmly with Whitby.
Sheer incompetence and a total lack of respect for travelling supporters and the Guiseley team by not having an inspection this afternoon.

The arrogance and lack of empathy shown by Whitby officials had guilt written all over it. They messed up big time but were happy to take our money behind the bar and for 50/50 knowing the game was in doubt.
