Both things are very much still in the pipeline and there should be updates on both pieces of work coming in the next few weeks! AB

What was/is the pitch progress news?
Don't buy a programme - but have attended nearly every home game since 1993 at full gate price rather than a season ticket.
Not sure why I would have to pay £3 for the news?

So with the last home game now being just 10 days away, is the work to install the 4G pitch going to start imminently? There’s been no news on this for months?

Probably be May before work commences with potential for play-offs a possibility when works would have be originally organised.

Monday 07 May was mentioned as a start date by Trudi in one of the programme updates a couple of weeks ago.

I’ve read the planning decision a couple of times and I don’t get it. Why do we need a steering committee including the WRCFA to set our prices? Why do the Football Foundation need to agree our prices? It wasn’t being funded by any public body so why do they get to determine the business model? Do Goals in Kirkstall have to run their booking rates by the blazers in Woodlesford?
I prefer grass to plastic but something about this smells fishy.

Surely we should be appealing or strongly complaining about this. It sounds luke the two decisions which are preventing the project going forward are both based on seriously flawed logic??

The conditions defy logic. Look at Harrogate Town - they had a 3G and they barely have space to park a car rather than 37 spaces. The notion that the pitch should be rented out at the same cost as council grass pitch also is irrational. That would surely only be the case if an existing facility was being removed - it’s not. How can such a restriction be placed on our trade??
Inevitability we will get this pitch. In my view there is no real reason not to. Something is decidedly fishy here and I’m sure it will all come out in the wash eventually. But no doubt it will cost Guiseley AFC more in legal fees and time than it should.
Of course grass is a better surface to play on, and watch football on, but this isn’t about the aesthetic it’s about making the club financially sustainable.
You are left with the impression that if it were a housing estate or a supermarket that were being proposed for the site we would see plenty of movement.
That’s unless Sport England are allowed to insist the supermarket sell the apples at the same price as those that could be scrimped from nearby gardens of course.

The conditions included a banksman to guide lorries in and out and a carefully located wheel washing station before giving permission to proceed! We had permission to develop the whole ground without any such nonsense, this is a tiny project of pulling up some turf and putting down a carpet - really don’t understand it.

The restrictions imposed on the development seem disproportionately harsh. I do wonder if someone with a vested interest has had their complaints overly taken into account.
However, there are local elections looming, so it might be productive to contact our currently elected Councillors and their prospective replacements, to canvass their support.
I appreciate that this won't affect matters as they stand for next season, but may yield support for the future. The battle may have been lost, but there is still a war to be won.
