A really drab game but in all honesty we didn't deserve anything from it and just never seemed to get going. Stafford had the better of the first half play with several corners but Battersby was only tested on one occasion. He saved well from a long range shot low down to his left. But Belford up the other end only had one saved to make himself too denying Murphy who had controlled the ball well to bring it down from the air. We won a couple of corners too but didn't really do anything with them. A couple of crosses from Kendall and Afuye flashed across the face of goal and just needed a touch but one wasn't forthcoming. The second half was more of the same but we did test Belford more than we did in the first 45. The big keeper commanded his box well and was strong in the air and did well to stop us on a few occasions. Stafford took the lead through former Lion Ben Woods who finished off a cross from close range. This sparked a number of changes and with Denton introduced. He powered home a cross leaving Belford with no chance to score what looked like an equaliser to rescue a point. But the hosts didn't give up their three points that easily and struck back through Kaiman Anderson's finish after Battersby had saved well. The hosts in truth deserved their win. We move on to Worksop Town at home on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

Summed up perfectly Adam. Don’t usually comment on the officials but today they were poor. Seemed to go out of their way to wind everyone up. Pitch didn’t help but it was the same for both teams understandably it was the same for both teams but suited Stafford better. Onto next week Onwards and upwards.

The game was bad, the pitch worse and some of our fans behaviour was quite frankly an embarrassment.

Thought yesterday was a definite potential banana skin and so it proved. Stafford were well organised and did a great job of stopping us from playing, aided by a poor playing surface which meant the wingers struggled to run with the ball.
Management did recognise this (albeit when we had gone behind) with the introduction of Johnson and Denton, who got us level with a decent header.
To concede late yet again was very disappointing in a match I felt we had to win, although we got away with that to an extent with our main play-off rivals also all losing. Hopefully we can regroup and recover back at home next week against Worksop in a six pointer.
Apologies for going over old ground, but I am getting pretty fed up with the club’s reputation being repeatedly tarnished by the behaviour of a minority of away fans. Think we all recognise that ‘banter’ with opposition goalkeepers is part and parcel of non-league football, but yesterday was beyond pathetic. Having followed Guiseley home and away for over twenty years, it’s only really been an issue in the last couple of seasons. I won’t claim to have the answers but I hope the club can make some effort to address it.

I thought the club handled the problem of young idiot home fans well. Let's address the problem of away fans. My understanding was they couldn't book the coach unless accompanied by an adult one to one, maybe because of falling numbers using the coach that's gone by the board. Secondly less older supporters are using the coach because of the younger supporters behaviour. My feeling is an approximate 2hrs spent in a pub before the game is probably a major contributer to the problem.

Also shows how we struggle to play on c**p pitches as well. Same for both teams but obviously they will be more use to it.
