Apropos nothing of its Ilk…

Something suddenly occurred to me last night after I’d had my bedtime Horlicks, and having thought about it today, I still think it’s probably right.

The question - for it was such - was ‘the only team in England - or probably in Europe, or probably the world! - to have played against another team whose name begins with the letters I, L and K?’

We accomplished this odd ‘achievement’ when we played both Ilkeston and Ilkley Town earlier on, and having Googled other UK place names beginning with those same three letters, I’m pretty certain that it’s a feat that no other team has accomplished, let alone even paused to think of it.

I’ll get my coat…
