Really not suprised with Andy's departure today, things behind the scenes we do not know about were clearly affecting performances, been to every home and away game and the last six have been abysmal, for me the inability to change the style of play during a game didn't help, I really thought we had turned a corner under Liam's cartaker era, the lads looked committed and fully invested in how Liam wanted them to play, I truly wanted Andy to build on that, unfortunately we went into a real decline and like I say the last six games Sealed his fate, I wish him well in his next appointment, for us I belive Liam will again galvanise the side and give us something to cheer before the season ends. As for the comments on the boardroom, damned if they don't act quickly enough, damned if they do, all I can say is our board are genuine fans of the Club and as such want what's best to achieve promotion, yes mistakes have been made, but can anyone hold their hand up and say they have never made a mistake. Let's get behind Liam, the players and the Directors of the Club, we all want what's best for it

I thought the Directors might persevere until the end of the season but results really have tailed off over the last month or so without any sign of improvement, so damned if they do, damned if they don't. Liked Andy but football management is a brutal results driven business and there is no room for sentiment. Judging by his previous stint Liam looks to have all of the attributes for a bright future in management, maybe with us?

Any news on the coaching staff? Presumably they’ve left with Andy. If so who will be supporting Liam? It’s a big ask for Liam. How do you measure success for him in these remaining games - realistically 2 wins and a draw wouldn’t be bad after the last few performances but we need 4 wins. Going to be another rebuild this Summer which is getting a bit tiresome

Sure. It's not an easy job, someone will always have a problem with every decision, and I don't doubt their desire and intention. I also understand that there is simply less time for due diligence than there would be at a professional club. However, even taking that into account, the record is not good. They stuck with Bignot for far too long when it was obvious what was happening. They gave Danny Ellis a chance, but pulled the plug before he'd had much chance to make mistakes let alone learn from them. They appointed the utterly awful Paul Phillips, then gave him a full pre-season despite many red flags being raised during his first season. Now they've parted with a manager who had a decent overall record and had them playing good football seemingly just off the back of a disappointing run. There's clearly more to this business than we get to see, but from where I'm sitting it's an odd succession of giving some managers far too much time, whilst parting with others when there seems to be no major cause for concern. The current situation gives them plenty of time to decide who they want next, and to wait for them to become available if needs be, so let's hope this is the one that works out.

Left it till this morning but still find it hard to fathom why you would sack a manager with 5 games left in season because of a bad week (in results). Yes if Liam turns it around again & wins all the remaining games & we finish in the play-offs, justification to the board, but it's a tough ask with little time left.
As others have said, Mr Welsh's record is not bad in comparison with others before him and yet one week of bad results & there's the door mate. What happens if we don't finish in the top five ? It's pretty clear to most that to win this league you need the budget to do it (South Shields last year, Radcliffe this) , but this would need new investors I think as the current owner is probably reluctant to do this, (even setting aside whether this approach is right for our club sustainability wise).
Should we all be thinking for our club, with its current budget and current matchday crowds, is still fighting for the play-offs in April, an achievement we should all be happy with ? I for one, have enjoyed this season as we're played some good football (post Mr PP time), had some great results and generally enjoyed a good vibe most of the season. If we finish in the top 10, would that be success overall ? How many of us would have accepted that back in Aug 23 ?
I guess the next 3.5 weeks will determine what people think overall, but I'm reasonably happy with what I've witnessed so far, certainly comparing to previous seasons and others are fairing much worse .... Marske / B(PA) ?

Has anyone read the comments on the Facebook page announcing Andy's departure?, it's been hijacked by Bury FC fans squabbling and abusing each other, comical really, arguing over an ex manager's departure from Nethermoor, there is a couple who's obsession with him borders on the worrying side, maybe they need counselling to get over it 😂😂

No surprise. Couldn't beat Knaresborough. Hopefully this displays the Board do want success. Should've brought back Kittrick at the start of the season. He's no nonsense too.

Rallyman I’m not sure I’d read too much into that as a I’ve seen Steve at Nethermoor before during this season. I think he’s a Guiseley fan at heart, and cares about the club. I really don’t see him becoming our next permanent manager, which is probably the reason why you should make him favourite for the post.

He attends quite a lot of home games so nothing unusual about him being at Nethermoor.
