Blimey!!
I think their track record at BPA before BPA self destructed (twice) shows their first time with us was no fluke. The difference this season after they left shows they were getting the best out of that squad.
They’re good guys who understand the game and understand management. Plus they remind me of the good old days. I’m totally on board.

Well they did it last time so let's hope for a repeat next season. Don't think their time at BPA counts for much as the club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom and that's why they have suffered two succesive relegations and I wouldn't bet against a third next season.

Who amongst us will ever forget the day at Chorley.
I personally am pleased that this announcement has come now,it gives the new management team a chance to put their list together of who they want to keep, gives players a chance to meet the guys and find out what would be expected of them without the pressure of a new season hanging over them.
Can I just say to members of this squad in my experience with these two, what you see is what you get no b......it but they have an incredible work ethic for team and club and that's what is expected of you.
Loyal, you'll never be publicly slagged off but if you've any sense you wouldn't deserve one in the first place. Talk if you get chance to their old successful players, aye there's the measure of the men.

This has all the hallmarks of an arrangement made ages ago - I first heard Mark mentioned as the next manager after we played BPA in August - but with us not wanting to compensate Avenue. In that case I really feel for Andy Welsh and think he was poorly treated. I wonder how much Danny King's arrival mid season and Jamie Spencer's payoff from BPA are linked to this.
Mark's always come across as a good guy and has done well with us before. I hope that he hasn't been recruited because he's become accustomed to managing on a shoestring, and that performances don't detract from the regard he is held in given his previous achievements at Guiseley. (The latter would always be an argument against reappointing Steve Kittrick).

Welcome home Mark and Danny! Your task ( should you choose to accept it) is a simple one. Please get us out of NPL and get us back to National League North! Looking forward to next season. 🦁

Troll,we all are entitled to an opinion, thats what makes football and watching it interesting don't you think. At the same time we mere fans and supporters can never truly know what goes on behind closed doors and that's probably as well, but the odd thing does occasionally sneak out. Just for my penny's worth, you cannot sideline someone of Chippendales ability for practically a whole season, without in my opinion it being personal and then lo new manager & team mate and hes playing and like the horse breaker he is. Good on Chips shows self confidence and commitment to his team what more could you want from him.

Just the medicine we all needed after the season petered out. In early means speaking to the current squad and looking at options elsewhere.
I for one will be having a beer on the bus to Workington tomorrow celebrating this news and hopefully the players put on a good show to show Mark and Danny how good they can be. When I say one beer that might be a slight exaggeration!!

Promise promise promise my last thoughts on this until I see next season signings, but I'm sure there will be many nods of agreement. For any of our talented young players who want to stay ,learn and progress, Danny Boshell is one of the most talented, creative, intelligent mid fielders it has ever been my privilege to watch and I've watched a lot from prem downwards in my 60yrs of being a football fan right. Also Mark was a defender of note, look at the man not much got passed him. It would be unfair to name you individually but you and more importantly we know who you are ,I feel that if you want and have the desire to become better footballers and winners now is your chance.

Fantastic news. Also makes complete sense.
Great man managers, even when we were struggling in the National League I never got the sense the team weren’t behind them. I think this could really work with Russ O’Neill’s recruitment capabilities - I’m very excited.
The only thing that would improve things is if we could put Danny Boshell into a Delorean and make him ten years younger!
Very happy with this news!

Great news particularly as RawdonLion states this season has really fizzled out after that last minute winner vs Radcliffe. This is just the tonic to reenergise the fans. Like Troll, I feel very sorry for Andy W and accepting that we don’t know all the details, looks like he was poorly treated. If he’d been allowed to see out the season then maybe I’d feel differently. As it is the switch to Liam has made no discernible difference to results, performance and commitment from some. I’d exclude Chips and Dawson from lack of commitment who have both looked worthy of a place in the team. Like Colin says, Russ’s role will be pivotal in supporting B & B in scouting and recruitment and perhaps for the first time since his re-appointment, his role appears clear. Those of us who perhaps thought he was The Puppeteer know that B + B would rejoin on those terms but know they will value his input. Very happy days and very much on-board for next season

Great news! We never should have let them go in the first place. Great to see you back Mark & Danny and very much looking forward to conversations in the bar after matches.

I wonder who approached who ? If I was Mark I would have told Guiseley to shove it. The way he was treated before by Guiseley was a disgrace. He got us promoted to the National League, survived a season, had 6 games in the next season and was booted out after a defeat by North Ferriby. That was the first of umpteen disgraceful decisions made by this board, whom in my opinion are not fit to run this Club. Do you want me to list a few ? Ok. Cox, going full-time, disbanding the ladies team, appointing Bignot and his Solihull academy, sacking Danny Ellis, appointing Philips, sacking Welsh.............should I go on ? I'm just surprised anyone goes and watches them anymore !

According to his interview with Colin on Saturday Mark made the initial approach and as for the Board, yes they have made mistakes, but we still have a football club to support and some excellent youngsters coming through the ranks. If you really want to see what a badly run club looks like have a gander at the BPA Fans Forum or better still all of the negative stuff that surrounds Man Utd.
