I wonder who approached who ? If I was Mark I would have told Guiseley to shove it. The way he was treated before by Guiseley was a disgrace. He got us promoted to the National League, survived a season, had 6 games in the next season and was booted out after a defeat by North Ferriby. That was the first of umpteen disgraceful decisions made by this board, whom in my opinion are not fit to run this Club. Do you want me to list a few ? Ok. Cox, going full-time, disbanding the ladies team, appointing Bignot and his Solihull academy, sacking Danny Ellis, appointing Philips, sacking Welsh.............should I go on ? I'm just surprised anyone goes and watches them anymore ! Fully understand your frustration with how the season has petered out going from in the play-offs mid-March to mid table 10th with one win in last seven league games. But blaming the board is not the answer and I think supporters should think first before doing this. Why - because we are where we are & have been through the financial input from the owner's/board over the past decades thanks to £000's if not £m's of their money. There has been successes like being promoted to NL & enjoying (if that's the right word) three seasons. There have been welcome support like paying for the supporters coach for the return trip to Whitby which I am personally thankful for. Yes there have been mistakes like you have stated, no-one will deny those & probably not the board, but going to Whitby, we bumped into a few Marske supporters who'd turned up to watch the game. Their club, although saved from extinction, still didn't know which league they would be competing in next season and all because funds could not be sort to enable them to complete the season & hence they had to resign. We are where we are because of the financial backing we have received over the years & I for one, am very grateful for that backing. So for me, draw a line under this season, recharge the batteries & go again come August (or beforehand with the pre-season friendlies). Its going to be an interesting summer with B&B in charge building their squad and I for one, am looking forward to the goings on which will surely follow over the next weeks/months. Rallyman

For me, I'd really like one complete, uninterrupted season so I don't have so many "what ifs".
Like it or not, Danny E was untested as a manager and Andy W had managed at step 4 and 5. PP was a short-term impact manager by reputation. If nothing else, here we have a known quantity who we can be confident will deliver a competent, organised team if we can get the right mix of players together.

I think there have been plenty of mistakes made by the board in the years since the National League days. I don't think this is one of them.
I also think that if Mark Bower was so upset about his dismissal last time then he probably would have told them to shove it. The fact that he didn't suggests that he doesn't feel too aggrieved.
I also don't think appointing Marcus Bignot was a mistake. He steadied the ship after relegation, steered the club through the pandemic, and delivered some decent performances along the way. His tenure went on too long, and should have been ended sooner, but appointing him was a perfectly good move.
Dismissing Andy W seemed hasty to me, but I don't know what had gone on behind the scenes. I hope we don't have a Chelsea-esque dressing room where the players can change the manager any time they like, but it's equally possible that there was a good reason.
The important thing is that this is a great move and I'm excited for next season. Mark and Danny did a great job last time, and they did well to keep BPA afloat for as long as they did. I think they've as good a chance of success as anyone.

Maybe it's wishful thinking but I don't think Mark and Danny would let that happen - they're both good with people and have handled 'characters' before. God knows what went on at BPA but the whole place is a mess and their track record from before their best players were shipped out under their noses at New Year whatever year it was suggests their first stint with us wasn't a fluke.

I'm just surprised anyone goes and watches them anymore ! I understand the sentiment entirely but don’t agree that the Board are wholly responsible. I agree that Bowser was poorly treated. He secured promotion and kept us up in the NL and I think we were quick to replace. It certainly felt that Locky (whilst an excellent replacement) was given better backing. As for Cox - completely agree. As for Bignot - completely agree BUT Russ was a fantastic appointment; the problem was joint Managers who didn’t know each other which in all contexts is simply weird! As for Danny Ellis - most wanted him to succeed but we will perhaps never fully know the reasons why. As for PP - terrible decision (IF anyone has access to The Athletic, read the article re Rylands for more evidence). And Welsh - yes very poorly handled. BUT as others have said, Bowser clearly doesnt feel too hard done by or otherwise wouldn’t have approached the club. His interview is encouraging. I for one can’t wait to sign up for another 12 months…
