The season ends in defeat for the Lions as Workington struck late to take the win.
In a game that most definitely had an end of season feel to it it was the hosts who came out on top, perhaps deservedly.
They had the best of the first half, we only came close through Adam Dawson's shot that was straight at the keeper.
Murphy just needed to get a touch on Dawson's cross too but it flashed across the face of goal.
Battersby made a couple of stunning saves at his near post.
The hosts also struck the side netting early on.
It was Rigg who broke the deadlock though with a free header from a set piece.
The second half never really got going but we worked our way back into it when Kendall powered home another header finishing off Dawson's corner.
Otherwise Pratt went close but that was about as good as it got for the Lions.
It was almost written in the stars that Smith, one of Working ton's players who were retiring today, would get the winner at the death.
With that the season came to a close.

Just home after the trip to Workington. Not a great performance and suggested some players were already on the move with an abject performance. If not they didn’t do too much to impress Mark and Danny watching on.

Can I just say it’s been an absolute pleasure to travel on supporters bus. Much maligned with negative views I couldn’t ask for a better set of supporters and friends. Yes we’ve had the occasional issue but the core support has been fantastic and can’t wait to see you all again with the prospect of a great season ahead in 24-25.

Another end of season game nothing to play for performance. Few chances created but the finishing touch was missing.
I will echo what Rawdonlion said another great day out on the supporters coach with great people.
 Long may it continue.

Great day out despite the result.

For me it’s what following Guiseley is all about. Yes the results on the field matter but more important are the friendships and memories made.
