I was proud of the lads today. They put on a strong determined performance against a team who used every tactic in the book (and some that weren’t in the book at all) coupled with a referee who made some utterly dreadful decisions! Wasn’t to be our day but I know whose style of football I prefer to watch!! COYL onwards and upwards 🦁

We were all saying prior to the Worksop game that it would be a big test and more importantly a good indicator of where we were in regards to the league. Therefore we had that question answered and to my mind in spades. We can more than match any team in terms of football ability and skill, are the equal to any of them in commitment, bravery and sticking to the task in hand and do it without having to resort to underhand tactics. They are a pleasure to watch try to play attractive entertaining football and I for one am enjoying this season.

It’s unfortunate that the ban on sale of alcohol happened so late. I would think it’s a no brainer that the football club should be allowed to sell alcohol in the ground and that they want to do so, because it’s beneficial to the atmosphere and it’s financially beneficial too. So if that’s not happening it’s clearly not at the football club’s request. So some of the complaints on social media aimed at the football club about this are misguided at best. Netherfield Lion is correct, it’s an issue that will be resolved (because why wouldn’t it be?) and I would hope it is resolved before the next league game (remember, we’re not allowed to sell pitch side booze in FA Cup games anyway - again that’s FA rules, not ours…)
Stay calm, we’ll be able to drink again soon.

I just read that post with the voice of Barney from the Simpsons in my head.

There were loads of people drinking outside at both the Ashton game and the Northwich game so it seems the FA rules are no longer in force? So presumably we will be able to drink a beer and watch the game at the same time on Saturday?
