An update on the alcohol situation at Nethermoor:
"Guiseley AFC wish to confirm that due to a recently discovered issue with the Clubhouse licence, alcohol cannot be sold or consumed outside of the Clubhouse.
The Clubhouse is open from 12:30pm and can be accessed via the home section of the ground. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause our fans.
We are currently working towards resolving this issue and will keep you updated when we have news."

Wowser !! What a magnificent individual performance from Jake and many others today. Jake’s performance reminded me of another similar defensive display by Colin Hogarth many years ago at Nuneaton Borough against a team well above Guiseley ‘s level at the time - well done team !!!

That was a fantastic performance today. The effort and commitment from the entire Guiseley team made me feel proud to be a supporter, and the defending was superb.
I don’t think Gabriel Johnson looked quite fully fit today, and I hope he doesn’t need a long time out.
Does anyone have any clue what prompted the second yellow for Lebrun? We were at the other end of the ground and couldn’t figure out what was going on, but from the reaction of our players, it seemed a seemed like a pretty dubious red to say the least.

Looked like their player got himself between Lebrun and the ball, then stopped and let Lebby run into the back of him. Neither was actually that near the ball, though, so it would be hard to say their player had control of it, though he was closer. The ref did seem pretty determined that Scunthorpe should win. Luckily they squandered every opportunity he gave them.

A great performance and result. Shows we belong in the division above. I thought Prince, Jake amongst others were the stand out performers. Hopefully we can show this type of steel in the winter away in the less glamourous games.
Also, the club needs to sort out this licensing issue, lost a lot of revenue today which could probably solved by a phone call I am guessing. It's a bit amateurish if the club wants to be promoted and taken seriously. Are Guiseley a professional club or a part-time clown operation?

We looked a bit weak defensively down the right for the 2nd half. John is fantastic and I think his offensive threat outweighs his defensive work, esp with Lucas behind him. But for the 2nd yellow their player got in behind and Lebrun who was across covering and blatantly pushed their player in the back. Was probably a yellow card imho

Brilliant back against the wall performance from every player to seal the win and beat another team that haven't lost many games. Thought that despite going close on a coupl eof occassions they never really looked like scoring whereas we did.

What a day to be a Guiseley supporter. The team performed magnificently and fully deserved their win.
Credit to the management and players for such a professional job against a higher ranked club with such an EFL pedigree.
Really good 24 hours for the club after the BBC Radio Leeds programme last night and today’s performance both showing the club in such a positive light.
Stood in the away end selling 50/50 tickets and the 500 plus away supporters behaved impeccably and gave generously. Credit where it’s due.
Don’t you just love non league football on days like these?

A great day at Nethermoor with a bumper crowd and showing a different side to our team mentality with an excellent team defensive performance with 10 men for a long spell in the second half. Let's start with the crowd, brilliant support in both ends with 1254 people at Nethermoor, it's not been like that for a while and it was great to see. Onto the game, Scunthorpe started really well and caused us a few problems early doors but we managed to hang on in there and edge our way into the game. Beestin had the ball in the net with just 120 seconds on the clock but the ref was quick to disallow the goal for a foul on Cracknell. It took ten minutes for us to craft an opening and it was the impressive Farrell who got a shot away but it was blocked by a visiting defender. 10 minutes later we had the lead, Longbottom's pinpoint free kick found the head of the leaping Lawlor who placed it into the top corner to break the deadlock. Scunthorpe were pushing for an equaliser and Shrimpton came close as his shot flew wide. With the half coming to a close we were pushing for a second but it came at a cost as Farrell's afternoon ended early and Johnson came on in his place. The second half was a bit more of a battle than the first, Shrimpton and Beestin fired over for the visitors in the early knockings. Brown had a shot at goal too but his effort sailed over. Midway through the half Mbeka saw red, his second yellow and his afternoon came to an early conclusion. The visitors were piling on the pressure but were only managing to create half chances really, Brown did have to clear off the line on a number of occasions but Cracknell had a relatively quiet second half. Whitehall headed wide in the closing minutes and Beestin saw his header easily gathered by Cracknell. The half eventually came to an end after a long amount of injury time was concluded! A brilliant performance from all. Well played Guiseley! Onto Basford United away on Tuesday night. Come on Guiseley! AB

Truly one of the special days at Nethermoor. I thought we were exceptional for the first half. We could, and probably should have been two up before the break. Jake Lawlor’s header reeled back the years. Longbottom’s assist shows his quality again from set pieces.
The courage and commitment of the team was incredible. We lost Leo Farrell but adjusted well. We went down to 10 (unquestionably wrongly), yet showed tremendous work rate and discipline. Even with 10 we deserved to win.
Unfortunate performance from the ref, some confusing decisions.
We are on the up though. How many good performances today. Brilliant from Lawlor - an absolute masterclass. Odunstun was joint MOM for me, but there were many contenders. Ekpolo brilliant, Lufudu constant threat, Longbottom superb, Brown solidly dependable, Cracknell excellent, I could go on.
The opposition directors were gracious in defeat, their supporters seemed a decent bunch.
Today’s game will live with me for a long time. What a fantastic weekend.

Almost unlistenably tense on the commentary feed at the end, I’m so proud of the club. That’s a big day with a good crowd and the extra coverage from BBC Leeds yesterday, and it’s great to see us impressing people rather than getting tonked and missing the opportunity for new followers.
My status as an ardent Bowser and Bosh believer is secure still - honestly feels like we’ve hopped back in time a decade to when we played our hearts out and sent people home happy every week.
Glad to see Ollie Brown end up with a key role today because of red cards cards past and present.
