Lebrun's 2nd yellow was for the mildest foul it is possible to give within the laws of the game. That said, it was an unnecessary challenge and his first yellow for dissent was also avoidable. Faced with a clown ref, don't give him a unicycle. When we went down to 10, they initially exploited it well, passing it around and stretching us. It was gratifying to see them reduced to lumping it long for the last 5 or 6 minutes. Lawlor put in the best centre back performance since Lockwood in his first spell - imperious. It was an heroic performance. Have to say that the Scunny fans were good fun on mixlr and wished us well at the end. It will be quite a challenge to reset for Basford on Sunday.

Good performances all over the pitch.
I expected a bit more from Scunthorpe. I expected a lot more from the ref. Missed 2 blatant elbows and let a lot of challenges through the player from behind go unpunished. Fully expected him to award a Scunny penalty at the first opportunity.

Fantastic display from all the Guiseley players yesterday in a hard fought game against a good Scunthorpe team who we made look ordinary. Jake Lawlor was outstanding and deserved the motm award. Great atmosphere inside the ground congratulations to both sets of fans. Not going to comment on the ref everyone who was there could see his performance. Onto the next round drawn on Monday. Onwards and upwards.

Away so listened in on the chat room and was so proud of the lads. Jake’s header sealed the deal . It’s like he never left and his calm assured presence is a joy to watch. The whole team played their part, especially when down to ten men. I hope that Leo is Ok and nothing too serious. Let’s have another home game in the draw on Monday please. Plus a win away on Tuesday night!🦁

Knew we’d have to play a nigh on flawless game to get anything yesterday and happily that’s exactly what we did. Not a duff performance anywhere. Lebrun was unlucky to pick up that second yellow, which was never a yellow. Standouts for me were obviously Jake Lawlor who never looked ruffled and got everything right. Ollie Brown in a slightly unfamiliar position stayed calm and did brilliantly to drop back into central defence after Lebrun went off. Lucas Odunston was everywhere and never seemed to tire, Lufudu a constant threat, and Prince back to his hassling, and harrying and nagging best. Only worry would be an injury to Leo Farrell, after yet another unpunished challenge from the Scunthorpe defender. Hopefully he was taken off as a precaution. Overall a fantastic performance and result - let’s hope it’s suitably rewarded with a good draw in the next round (we couldn’t get yet another home game, could we?)

Still feeling the pride in yesterday's performance which prompted me to think about the officials and how it could have been very different. As supporters of non league football, we all I think look forward to a game against higher opposition, firstly to see how our team perform against them and to be able to judge what we need to do to achieve promotion and secondly its nice to see good teams play. So having said that can I please inform match officials that these players do not need protecting from lower league players, we are not out to damage them through jealousy, unlike a lot of them we don't resort to gamesmanship and I've never seen a deliberate foul to injure another player. This seems to be the mindset of some officials, all we want to see are neutral officials prepared to see the game both ways. I know it's a tough gig and without them we wouldn't have a game, all we want is fairness, less ego and maybe allowing lines persons to contribute more.

On the subject of “enhancing the supporter experience”. Yesterday’s burgers certainly capable of making the 1st Round proper or playoffs, perhaps even automatic promotion? Well done to RTR on their efforts. Excellent work.
