No one is gonna admit to this but I think we had one eye on next weeks FA Cup tie at Kidderminster which could potentially greater rewards (financial and promotional) than the FA trophy. Plus it means less games as we pursue a retun to the NL North so overall not too dissapointed with the outcome. And given their finacial woes Bamber Bridge will also be glad of the cash boost from winning.

A game too far today, not the end of the world, just a shame we couldn’t find one more performance.

Oh and well done to Sebine, tough position as a youngster and that was a hard game and he made it through well.

It just didn't feel like our day at Nethermoor this afternoon and with so many forced to miss the game through injury or suspension we were left with little options from the bench to change the flow of it. The game was pretty even throughout with both sides creating opportunities but it was the visitors and Grand who scored the only goal of the afternoon. Afuape arguably had the best chance of the opening 45 when he seized on Bamber Bridge's dithering in possession but he couldn't find a way past Pradic when through one on one with the goalkeeper. He then had another opportunity when a corner fell to him but he lashed the ball wide. Longbottom saw a curled effort crash off the crossbar, it would have been another excellent strike from the top scorer. Cracknell made a couple of good stops, a finger tipped effort from a long range shot the pick of the lot. The second half didn't have the same flow and pace to it as the first 45, Longbottom saw his free kick strike the visitors' wall. With twenty minutes left the visitors struck, a looped ball found Grand at the backpost and he headed past Cracknell into the opposite corner, his second goal against us this season. Ollie Brown was clipped on the edge of the box but the man in black was unmoved and failed to point to the spot despite it looking like a penalty on first viewing. There was one last chance, a corner deep in injury time was looped in by Longbottom but our shot went just wide and that was that. Unlucky lads. I think the lads will be grateful of a week's rest before our trip to Kidderminster on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

Never like us losing but with a big FA Cup tie next Saturday and being 5th in the league this may be a sacrifice worth making.
Most of the absentees were injured as opposed to a couple rested/suspended however.
That’s more concerning than the loss of an FA Trophy game right now.

We all love the way the new team rattles in goals for fun, but I don’t this defeat will live all that long in the memory. It doesn’t affect the fact that we’re a happier club these days, or the fact that we seem to know where the goals are now, so good luck to Bamber Bridge, and you can have this one on us. Given the choice of 3 points over at theirs a couple of weeks ago or further advance in the Trophy, I reckon we’d all know what we’d take. For reasons beyond the name of its main sponsors, this used to be known as the Glue League, and it took a very good Guiseley side a long time to haul themselves free.. From what I’ve seen of opponents this season it’s going to be equally difficult now, so we might have to accept that there’ll be battles along the way that we might not always win. That said, I believe the long term prospects are good, and we have a watchable, winning team again this season so in Mark and Danny we trust, and let’s see where we are in May.

Was surprised that George Sebine wasn't even on the bench (unless he's injured) given that he's been scoring goals for fun with the Academy.

Mark did say in his post match interview that George had felt his hamstring after Wednesday, suggesting he would otherwise have been in. I’d have liked to have seen him get a shot too, as we did look a little light up front. But if he was injured, what can you do?
