We played at Stevenage in 199? in one of the cup competitions and I remember that we lost to a very late and controvesial goal. Bruce will be able to fill in the missing details

Hard to get too excited by this draw although it does have excellent train connections. Shame really because IF (The Big If) it had been drawn the other way, it would have been a cracker and surely destined for TV. Still, we should bask in the run so far, 4 fantastic wins and a greater achievement than when we were NL/NLN….

Bruce will be able to fill in the missing details It was 1997 in the FA Trophy - I was there. We lost 1 0 - a late winner for Stevenage who were in the National League (or whatever it was called then) at the time. Not a very exciting draw to be honest - shame. I think we deserved better - although it could have been worse!!

Not a thrilling draw and as they are a relatively recent non league club (who we have played before), and so it lacks the magic of facing a longer term traditional league team. That said it could have been a much worse draw - Harrogate, Alfreton or Gateshead anyone?
Stevenage are League One but it will be settled on the day. I don’t imagine that the atmosphere will be much different to Kidderminster. No reason why we can’t deliver another surprise - and always the potential for the lottery of penalties.

I remember nervously waiting for the result of the 1997 match against Stevenage to come through on Ceefax while I was on a family holiday at Center Parcs.

I know the feeling, I can remember being at my grandma's waiting for the score to come through from a league game, waited around 15 minutes to get to it and we'd won 5-0! AB

Stevenage Borough Away Sat 01/03/97 FAT 2152 0 1 Steve Dickinson Peter Atkinson Paul Ryan Stephen Hook Greg Abbott Colin Hogarth Des Hazel Paul Bottomley Colin Hunter John Green Neil Parsley Subs:Marc Ledingham Dave Elvidge(9) Tony Outhart.
This was the line-up in 1997. Stevenage have had a bit of a chequered history with name changes etc. Town, Borough, Athletic and now just plain FC. I first went there in the mid 60's when they had the great Johnnie Brooks ex-England, Spurs, Chelsea and Brentford player.
