We never got going tonight against a team who belied their league position with a well drilled hard working performance.
Maybe resting a couple of midfield players inadvertently sent out a signal that we didn’t need to be at our best to win this one.
Ultimately we got a point from a game we were second best in and maintained our unbeaten run.
Second in the table they can be forgiven an odd off night as long as lessons are learned.

……..not a classic. Glad we got a point. Not much more to say except aren’t the refs bad this season?

Glad I didn't bother. From reports sounds like we created next to nothing. Need to buy a striker.

Disappointing result, particularly as we have almost a full squad available to us. Leek will feel hard done to as they were clearly the better side.
We've now failed to beat the three bottom sides in the league (Blyth, Warrington, and Leek) at home which isn't good enough if we have ambitions of maintaining a top 5 position. Need a massive step up in performance to get a result against Hyde on Saturday.

Disappointing performance from the lads tonight. Our passing was awful! We played better in gale force winds on Saturday! Leek will feel cheated that they didn’t get the three points. We have to be better than this. Agree the referee was dreadful.

A poor poor match. So at odds with what we’ve seen for much of this season. Didn’t think either team deserved to win but Leek probably more deserving. The changes to the 11 didn’t work and subsequently the impact of the subs we’ve seen recently didn’t happen. Gabs worked hard but for the most part was ineffectual but then one moment of individual brilliance secures a draw and point. We do miss Leo Farrell and hope we can secure his services for the rest of the season (or someone of similar ilk) Disappointing evening but the wider picture tells us we’ve got 39 points after 20 wins. A similar haul over the rest of the season would likely collect 2nd or 3rd place. If we’d ben offered this at start of season, we’d have happily said Yes Please It shows how the improvement under Mark & Danny that tonight was so disappointing

Nowhere near our best levels tonight but still took a point from a game where we created very little. It just never felt like our night and Leek started strongest and went on to get their lead in the second 45. Cracknell had to make a couple of saves in the opening stages to keep his side in the game. The half was stop start due to a couple of injuries which halted play. Lufudu created the best opening when his dangerous delivery just missed Ackroyd in g box. The second half was similar to the first in that Leek had the better of the openings with Cracknell keeping his side in the game. With 20 minutes left they took the lead through Hurst’s finish from close range. Longbottom’s free kick was well stopped by Visser as it was heading into the top corner. We got the goal with six minutes left, Johnson picked up the ball and swiveled in the box firing past Visser into the bottom corner. It was a cracking finish from the forward who was without a goal since August. We never really looked like getting a winner from there and the game petered out. We move on to Saturday’s trip to Hyde. Come on Guiseley! AB

I was worried as soon as I saw Moke wasn’t in the starting eleven. In my view he is our most important player as he makes the team tick and stitches the play together from back to front. We don’t have another player who can do that and so it proved in a first half where we looked very disjointed, lacked creativity and a cutting edge and failed to create a goalscoring chance. Leek were busy and a better unit and looked the more likely to score. We were much more cohesive after Moke came on but still failed to create much until Johnson’s rare moment of quality rescued a point from a match we could easily have lost. Our worst home performance of the season. I still think we should be asking Santa for a big centre forward for Christmas. We will need to be much much better against Hyde and Stockton to get anything from either match. To finish on a positive note we are second in the league four points clear of our rivals so plenty to be optimistic about heading into the second half of the season.

I suspected we were overdue a duff performance - every team gets them, and as long as it doesn’t develop into a habit we will be fine. Leek will have taken a lot of confidence from their result at Hyde and we’re still a bit patched up in defence. I hope the knock that Jameel got last night isn’t too bad. Ollie Brown works so hard, but toward the end of last time even he looked in need of a break. In the last few games, the subs have come on and changed the game, but we just weren’t quite gelling last night, and Leek coped admirably with almost everything we threw at them. Great to see that we didn’t lose though - again I think that comes down to the mentality in the squad. Great also to see Gabs score again - hopefully that gives him a bit of confidence. No cause for panic yet, improvement required for Hyde and Stockton, but I have faith that they already know that. Can we please ask Santa for some competent referees as well? Last night’s missed so much, and the things he did see, he invariably got wrong. So frustrating.

Game too far for me from players who have given their all due to our lengthy injury list. We need a backup for Leo Farrell and it might be worth giving George Sebine a couple of games plus another couple of utility signings.

If Leo isn't likely to return long term, and I believe that he's currently only on loan until 1st of January, then I trust that Russ and co. are ferreting around the lower league divisions for another thrusting young buck to take over Mr Farrell's mantle.

Got to give credit to Leek as well with a performance that belied their league position and they looked better than some of the higher placed teams that have visited Nethermoor this season.
