Sounds as if Guiseley have fractionally got the upper hand on a dreadful pitch,so fingers crossed for a result. Anyone heard how Longbottom is doing?

Another disappointing result but it does show just how good we’ve been that we still remain in 2nd having lost 3 on the bounce. It remains in our hands. We’re missing Will & Leo and their replacements are clearly trying hard but it’s just not running for us at the mo. It’ll come back as we have a good squad. And it’s better to do this now than just before the play-offs. Come on the Lions

First ten minutes we looked ok but after that we were always second best. Nothing else to add really.

Far from our best at Prescot this afternoon but despite this we had enough chances to take something from the game if not win it. The first half was tight and limited on openings. We started well and pinned the Prescot backline into their box but there was nothing for the keeper in bright pink to do. The game sparked to life in the closing minutes of the half. First a Prescot attacker forced Cracknell into a save. Up the other end Whitham was through on goal and his shot hit the post/Stanton and rolled across the line and out. The second half got off to the worst possible start when Foley rounded Cracknell and slotted into the empty net. With twenty minutes to go the hosts doubled their lead, Moonan heading in from close range after a free kick was whipped into the box. Ibbitson made an immediate impact and won us a penalty after Moonan hacked him down. Whitham stepped up but Hare parried the ball onto the post and somehow the ball stayed out on the rebound. Ible had a free header in the half and one in the second half but both missed the target. We move on to Ilkeston at home on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

Prescot have won nine out of 29 games so far this season and the pitch is the same for both the same for both sides so why can we not adapt our game to suit the conditions as we have enough talent in the squad to do so imo?

Just sounds like it’s not coming to us at the moment and as well as the injuries we’re missing one or two who are in the matchday squad but aren’t playing at their best. It’ll come back, fingers crossed for quickly.

The goal that never was (although clearly going in), a pudding of a pitch (same for both), a ref that bottled a 2nd yellow after he’d previously booked their 21, Brown on the bench who is our go forward right back, salty Liverpudlians. I forgot how damn well awful they are at criticism.
Not the best day, result or ground but we go again next week. Their left back was dreadful including a bad haircut.

Sometimes you spend time thinking about how to express your feelings about a game and someone gets there before you. Thank you Rawdon Lion. So that I have something to add - can I simply amplify the point about their left back…

So this is the offending goalposts. Lewis’s shot hit the metal support from the post to the wheel and came back out.

A very similar story to Lancaster- on top for large spells without much end product, and several good chances spurned whilst the opposition take theirs.
I thought the first goal would be crucial and once Prescot had something to defend it was always going to be difficult to breakthrough.
Their pitch was definitely a leveller and no coincidence that Macclesfield, Ashton, Ilkeston and Worksop all failed to win there. Moke and Emmett both struggled to make their usual impact and we were reduced to direct balls over the top which aren’t a usual feature of our game.
As already pointed out, still puzzled as to why already being on a yellow card seems to absolve you from a second booking.
A big three matches coming up next, including two at home to play-off rivals. Could do with a decent haul to steady the ship.

There are alternatives which don’t have the support and with wheels that are further back. These are clearly not suitable for football at our level

There are alternatives which don’t have the support and with wheels that are further back. These are clearly not suitable for football at our level To my eye, the post looks like it's actually on the pitch, rather than on the line. Surely that can't be right? There again, if the match has been played, and that point hasn't been contested, then there is no point complaining about marginal points. Our time will come. Fortune favours the brave...
