UniBond Premier League Marine have announced the re-signing of striker Karl O’Donnell after short stays at Leigh Genesis, Cammell Laird and Prescot Cables following his departure from Marine towards the end of last season. O’Donnell was axed following an unacceptable challenge on a Gateshead player in a league match early in April. Karl, 24, has apologized to the Marine Chairman and Manager for the incident and has asked to be given a second chance to rejoin the Mariners."

Did they actually sack him, or just send him on a fact-finding mission?
