Just to let you all know that we were wrong about the score last night and it didn't end up 4-0, in fact Selby scored against us twice and it was actually 4-2. Now a know a lot of our supporters went and they'd say it was 4-0, and that's what CDP said in his marvellous online report, but we as a Forum must always defer to the authority of our superiors and this is what they say: From thefa.com website today:FA Cup Results The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON First Round Qualifying No Date Home Away 2 16 Sep 2008 Selby Town FC 2 - 4 Guiseley AFC ......................................... And here's the link to prove it: www.thefa.com/TheFACup/TheFACup/Results/So now you know! NEXT: How England stormed to victory in Euro 2008.

That's nowt. Farsley were reported in nearly all the media (including our own website!!) as having beaten Hinckley 3-2 when we lost by that result. A scorer was even made up in some reports.

Ydr, are you sure it wasn't in fact 4-2 & we've all forgetting the two late goals "thought" in the net by a certain "south american" super being present in the crowd. If he can mentally persuade the BBC of the result, meer supporters should be no problem. Rallyman

The South American influence on Selby's two 'goals' is currently the subject of an official enquiry and, as such, we are unable to make any further comment at this time. As regards the Farsley score, doesn't it just make you wonder how many other scores and other footballing stories are incorrectly reported but faithfully believed by the sporting masses? Only recently I heard a rumour that the Avenue's summer tour of Spain didn't actually take place! Can you you imagine a sillier rumour than that? Of course, we dismissed the silly tale without further comment or enquiry. As if anyone would make up a tale about a summer tour that never happened!...

Well I wasn't going to say anything about that but some of the reported attendances have looked as much as a hundred or so larger than the actual crowd.

Rory Paterson scored the two Selby goals, he's just waiting for one of his mates to tell him. Oh yeah, Bob Blackburn is not Bob the Builder and Simon Clifford is not a self-seeking publicist. And I'm composing this post in my hotel room in Southend; s**t, that last bit is correct.
