Hello and welcome to the forth edition of my weekly blog.
This week I would like to look at the Eastwood match
Guiseley v Eastwood review
Can you have any more talking points in a match? This was an exciting, end to end match which was well worth the admission price. Guiseley did phenomally well to resist the Eastwood pressure, score two goals and claim the first scalp over the Nottinghamshire based side. Off the pitch Eastwood's touchline banned manager made enough noise to sink a ship and provided plenty of banter amongst the Guiseley faithful in the main stand. I enjoy the intimate atmosphere of non league games and you just had to be there to see this. Stood in the fenced off section of the stand, the manager bellowed orders at his team throughout the match. His choice of where to stand provoked fury among the home support, with one fan shouting: "Oi, I've paid and even I'm not allowed in there!". When the mouthy boss called for discipline, one home fan asked him which player he was referring to before another suggested he was talking about "Disciple". The referee wasn't that much better. Goodness knows how many decisions this man gave Eastwood's way. Eastwood shifted the ball forward 10 yards leaving one bewildered fan to shout: "I don't go that far on me holidays!". The same fan told the linesman:"I don't know what you're laughing at, you've got Rigor Mortis!" Overall this was a fantastic match and a great advert for non league football.
Next week I will look at Guiseley and Leeds' fantastic start to their Unibond Premier and League 1 season's respectivly...
