24 mins GOAL - terrible mistake by Kendal no. 2 who was robbed in posession by Lee Tuck who ran through and finished well to the keeper's left to make it 1-1.

Unbelievable humiliation. No, I'm not talking about their goal.

38 mins - Fitzgerald looks to have picked up a bad injury and has been carried off on a stretcher. Burton on up front, Merris to left back , Tuck to the right and Askham has switched wings.

HALF TIME Guiseley 1 Kendal Town 1
About even over the 45 mins. Fitzgerald loss could be crucial as it has disrupted the shape of the team. Need abig performance second half to win this one.

Has Nik spilt the peas again Not that but connected - the real embarrassment was the tannoy callout I got hoping I was there in my lucky pea-stained cords before kick-off!!! To be fair it was amongst the proudest moments of my life, and it was good to meet Yeadoner, BigJ and Volvoman in person finally. Never had so many people staring at my legs before though!!

On the footy - great game today, really pressured them, deserved the win but we looked seriously good in 4-3-3 with the fullbacks overlapping and Bentham and Needham playing with the very efficient Holland in midfield.
Some work still to do but we would win most home games comfortably with the football we played in the second half. Tucky could've had four and several others deserved better too. Wally took fifteen minutes to get going and was then excellent. Promising signs that if we get the style and balance, we could be a very good side.
All the best to Jez Fitzgerald too - hope it's not too serious.

I thought we had enough chances to have won the game in the second half but once again Worsnop pulled off a fantastic save to earn us a replay. We did much better in the second half with the 4-3-3 formation of Walshaw and Tuck either side of Burton in attack asking much more of the Kendal defence than the 4-4-2 we started with in the first half. Needham was excellent second half and Bentham and Holland did well also. Finally, once again I thought the back four were magnificent, especially Ellis and Merris.
Kendal are a big strong hard running team and gave Guiseley plenty of problems in a tight but entertaining game of few clear cut chances where both goals came from defensive errors. Suspect it will be equally tight on Tuesday in the replay. Presumably we will be without Fitzgerald and if I were the management, I would be tempted to start with the second half line up from today.

Definite props to Ellis and Merris.
Burton is such a crucial player, I really hope he stays fit and is available for whole games.
