A very open game of football with two sides both looking to play quick attacking football. Guiseley took an early lead through a headed goal by big Graham who made it 3 goals in his last 2 games. It was then a tale of penalties for the next 3 goals. Dempsey made it 2:0 to Guiseley with a well taken penalty. Minutes later it was then 3:0, this time it was Liam Blenkhorn's turn to put away a well taken penalty. On the stroke of half time Carlton got a penalty of there own and made it 3:1.
Half time: Guiseley 3:1 Carlton Athletic
The second half Vinnie made quite a few changes, trying to give everyone at least 45 minutes. Both teams had a number of chances in the 2nd half, however it was Carlton who were the team who finished them.
Overall a very good workout for the reserves with a lot of pleasing aspects to come out of the game.
Full Time: Guiseley 3: 3 Carlton Athletic

Try Liam Robinson for Liam Blenkhorn - don't you know your teammates' names Adam!!!! Graham Shaw headed in from a fine Liam Robinson cross from the left wing to the back post and he headed it into the far corner. Dempsey Smith netted the one penalty and Liam Robinson the other. Luke Hudson again trained with the team but is not ready for action yet following his broken collarbone. Highlight of the day - Adam Edwards was promised by Vinnie he could take the next penalty after earning two and being deprived of taking them by a management decision. When we got our first pen on Saturday Adam was still on the subs bench. Vinnie called Adam to get ready and be subbed so he could take the penalty - but then said he was only joking as Adam moved at lightening speed to get ready for his big moment. You will get used to Vinnie's humour one day Adam! Guiseley reserves team was: Ben Higginson; Sam Jacomb, Dan Husband, Callum Strodder, Danny Berry; Adam Hill, Sam Robinson, Mark Wilby, Liam Robinson; Graham Shaw, Dempsey Smith. Subs all used: Clark Lydon (GK), Adam Edwards, Andy Sidowski, Teague Mitchell, Lee Williamson. Another good work out for the team. Good to hear Carl is on his way back (where exactly are you Carl?) and of course Joe Hendrie is still on his world tour. Our young American friend Teague will be returning to the USA this week and we wish him and his US university mate Andy Sidowski all the best in the future. Looks like Vinnie and Stu will have a strong squad again as Callum White (first team), Tom Higman and Jamie Cairns (work) and Will Hutton and Will Boye (holiday) were all unavailable for this game along with Luke Hudson. Looking forward to the big kick-off on August 15th at Ossett Town. First home game August 22nd v Harrogate Railway (3pm).

Have to being fully stitched up by Vinnie, I now know not to always take him so seriously!! I will make sure I don't attempt to write a match report again. You are way better and actually know people's names. ha.

Cheers for the info. Might start following Guisely now, or the reserve side - alongside my main team ofcourse. Only stumbled across the above match whilst going for a walk trying to get myself back in shape. Just out of interest, why was the Beeston game played in Hunslet?

The Beeston game was played in Hunslet as the Beeston pitch was not ready after some pre-season work. You will be welcome at Nethermoor Mr Jingles - first or reserve team. We try to serve up good football.
