Thought we were doing ok at 1:0 down but went downhill rapidly after Holden was sent off. Best performances were from Hurst, Brown, Lenighan and Purver who when he came on played passing football which worked much better than the constant hoofing it forward. We ended up 9 men against 12 as the ref gave us absolutely nothing. As for the goading incendiary performance of the so called Mansfield Stag Mascot absolute disgrace and I will be writing to the FA. No group of visiting fans should have to contend with such inappropriate and insensitive behaviour. What a disgrace.

PC will have his work cut out to get us a result at Ebbsfleet but we desperately need it now. So come on Guiseley your loyal fans will be there willing you on.

Agree with Lioncub 1-0 down doing ok. Team selection a bit strange with Molyneux playing and the best player from last week Andy Howarth not playing. The display by both mascots was nothing short of disgraceful and for the stewards to let them get away with it they are as bad.  Also the idiot Guiseley fan who threw the broken seat in to the Guiseley fans at the front of the stand you are a disgrace to the club and should be banned from further games. Now on to the other idiot the referee you ruined what should have been a very competitive game thank you.

I enjoyed the day out but not the way we played with eleven men on the pitch. We actually started passing to each other when we were down to nine and Kevan was on the pitch.
M'Boungou is a liability I'm afraid he just doesn't learn. Diving in to challenges that he has no hope of winning and costing the team.
No idea what Holden was thinking for his red 'challenge'. More like a flying kung fu kick. It's the first time I've ever seen anything like that from him though so hopefully lesson learned.

I thought Mansfield were comfortably ahead on points before the ref remembered we'd all pitched up to watch him. Maxted had done wonders keeping the score down, and at 1-0 you'd guess there was a chance to get back in it. Unfortunately the ref ensured we wouldn't get chance.

No problems over Holden's red, fully justified, but on today's performance I wonder if M'Bongou would have received either yellow (or conceded a free kick?) if he was in a Mansfield shirt.

Now if we could just take their main stand and put it down the cricket club side......

Have to agree with everything already said. As for the so called Mansfield mascots an utter disgrace. If we were fans of other local clubs there would have been a riot because of their behaviour, also as for the person who smashed the seat and threw it, those nearby know the culprit, please name and shame as we don’t want such people following our team.

Once we went to 10 never had a chance and 9 was damage limitation tbh.

Agree with the comment re passing, we played better football with 9 and perhaps we should adopt playing this style rather than hoofing it to a static front line with 11!!

I thought purver played well when he came on. As usual super ted kept us in it but our discipline is awful and needs addressing. At the moment we don’t finish games with 11 men and we’re going to struggle to get anything from games.

I think Connor Brown will have a sleepless night with dreams of the winger having him on toast all afternoon.

All in all disappointing day and although great support the fans will only keep coming if we start winning, play better football and keep 11 players on the pitch!!

We have had some bad refs this season but the ineptitude shown by Carl Boyeson this afternoon was nothing short of staggering. The first Guiseley challenge attracted a yellow and after that he seemed to be on a crusade. M'Boungou's first yellow looked tenuous to say the least and Holden's challenge from where I was sat in the main stand looked like a booking at most.

And to put it in context, up to Holden's dismissal we had restricted them to one goal and although they scored a second shortly after it took another dubious decision - the penalty - to ensure that Town looked somewhere near comfortable.

Even then we created a couple of openings with just nine men while the home side missed a glut of chances. If I were a Mansfield fan I would be dissapointed that my side had bagged at least six goals against nine men.

But being a Lions fan I'm proud of our display this afternoon given the adverse circumstances and as for the FA and their respect campaign, given the performance of the officials this season they can shove it up their collective arses.
