Is it anticipated that the pitch will bear up to all the recent rain, especially with more forecast? I assume there will be a pitch inspection in the morning.

There is no pitch inspection planned as things stand but as always the pitch will continue to be monitored and should that change an update will be issued on the club's social media channels. AB

Thoroughly enjoyed that. A reminder of the good times. Good to see every player putting in a real shift. Whitham is a player who can turn a game. Great win.
Slightly spoiled by a group of youths throwing stuff at the South Shields coach after the game. Perhaps the club can look in to stewarding outside the ground for 15 minutes. The behaviour of some of theses imbeciles after the game, goading away supporters is ridiculous. Perhaps someone from the club may care to look in to this.

Good quality game and a fantastic result. They’re an NLN team in all but name, and are easily the best I’ve seen this season. That we were a match for them throughout was very impressive.
I would’ve been happy enough with a workmanlike defeat today - maybe it’s time for me start believing again too.

Fantastic result today.
I did have a feeling that we could do well against them given our new found belief. I thought we deserved the result and that they found us hard to break down. Lewis Whitham is the obvious player getting the praise at the moment, but the defensive shape and workrate was superb. The back four were excellent, I felt that Daly was solid as ever, and that the energy and workrate of Chippendale, Murphy and Whelan was vital to the win. Conditions were tricky but this feels like a big win. I feel very positive. I feel the management have set a high bar for individual performances and this is playing out in the quality of football we are seeing.
Can't get carried away too soon, but its great to be 7th tonight. The last 6 league matches have been pivotal, but it will be for nothing if the next 6 don't deliver similar performances and results. If we can build on this then there is every chance we could be looking at a genuine promotion push.

Great to see the commitment and obvious playing for each other on view today,They're learning this is what it takes to win football games with every one knowing their role and carrying it out to the best of their ability. Wonderful performance from all the players in appalling conditions. Carry on like that and who knows what can be achieved.

As to our ridiculous teenage idiots,I feel we should bite the bullet and consistently steward them better in bigger numbers as doesn't appear to be happening at the moment and eject them if they misbehave,we cannot have them ruining a hard won reputation as a friendly family club. If necessary keep them in the ground until the segregated away fans have had chance to at least reach their coach and maybe pay for a police presence at difficult games, costly as this will be it will show them that the club is not prepared to tolerate hooligan behaviour from anyone.

Best defensive performance I have seen from a Guiseley side in a long time.Thought one goal would always settle it and we certainly deserved it on the balance of play.
As regards the youngsters we really need to get a grip of them as the vile chanting, crude language and crass behaviour, which is partly fuelled by alcohol, is risking the club's family friendly reputation. Maybe the club ought to look at a membership scheme like that at Prescot Cables where they had a similar problem.

Another excellent performance against a good side to make it four successive home league wins and three victories in a week. The first half was fairly even with both sides creating half chances, perhaps Cam Mason was the busier of the two keepers but he had little to do in the second half as we came out on top and carved open some good opportunities. Mason made two good saves to stop a strong attacking front line from the visitors as Heaney and Osei tested the stopper. We also had chances of our own with Whitham and Smith both going close. Ible got a vital deflection on a Shields cross just as Osei was about to found unmarked in the six yard box. A switch in ends at the break brought about more chances for us but the visiting defence made several crucial blocks to stop Boney being tested on too many occasions. Chippendale nearly opened the scoring with an excellent curled shot with the outside of his boot but a defender made a crucial clearance on the line to stop it going in. Whitham nearly opened the scoring with a shot from range which Boney let slip from his grasp. With 12 minutes left Whitham was fouled in the box and despite attempts from the visitors to put the winger off he finished superbly from the spot to give his side a deserved lead. Smeltz nearly doubled the lead but just couldn't get enough on Whitham's cross. We managed the game extremely well from this point, the league leaders were limited in terms of what they created and the full time whistle brought about celebrations in the home end. Another brilliant performance and well earned win, loads of candidates for man of the match today but I thought Meppen-Walters, Whitham and Murphy were particularly good. Well played Guiseley! Onto Lancaster at home on Tuesday night. Come on Guiseley! AB

If necessary keep them in the ground until the segregated away fans have had chance to at least reach their coach and maybe pay for a police presence at difficult games, costly as this will be it will show them that the club is not prepared to tolerate hooligan behaviour from anyone. The Club must own this, bad and poor behaviour has been allowed to get steadily worse, word gets out to their mates, go to Guiseley do what you want nothing happens. I was parked in the Netherfield car park, the Shield's Supporters Club Coach was parked on the road next to it, there was no stewards that I saw near it, the coach left and was chased by a lot of the youths throwing things at it, I had to stop at the exit as they all ran in front of my car, the Coach was then caught in traffic trying to turn left onto ings Road and the youths run up there to it, on social media and on Google reviews I read the supporters on the coach were terrified as the coach was bricked, someone on the coach had to phone the police and it was escorted out of Guiseley, apparently the Police said it was a contingent of Leeds fans who are banned and have latched onto GAFC to the person on the coach, what a load of old rubbish, I have adult friends who do not go to Leeds games because they cannot get tickets, I doubt a group of 13-16 year old youths are banned Leeds fans, they are local scrots who need dealing with ASAP. I would also like to know why these idiots were removed from the George Stocks stand and we ended up having to put up with them behind the goal😡😡 If any South Shields are visiting this forum reading this, I am deeply ashamed of what happened to you after the game and I offer my apologies and solidarity with you, we are after all a non-league family.

Pretty tired of hearing and seeing the pathetic antics of these children - it’s embarrassing to watch and will be even more embarrassing for those caught on film behaving as they do. There are inevitably consequences for your actions (they might like to imagine what it might feel like being the individual caught on the Warrington video that went viral). I’m sure their parents will be less than impressed.
It’s also something that they themselves will be ashamed to have taken part in as they get older.
It’s irritating that these badly behaved kids tarnish our clubs reputation. In all our soul searching though we must remember that this is happening to our club and is not created by our club. We also have some fantastic young people getting involved in the club so this isn’t an age issue!
If you are reading as a visiting fan I can also assure you that we are all horrified when you hear of the incident with the South Shields coach. I’m sure there are more things that can, and will, be done to avoid this in future. Sadly there seems to be a trend towards more misbehaviour at football in the country at the moment - unfortunately it’s not just happening here.
The issue is that every extra steward and restriction that these boys bring about reduce the match day experience. If you could take the prospect of these immature brats out of the picture then I’m sure there would have been no need for segregation today.

Agree with all the above about our so called youth supporters. Something wants doing quickly about these louts before someone gets injured. Saw one idiot getting escorted out then later the same idiot walk past me still in the ground. We are going to start losing genuine fans because of these mindless idiots. Hope something can be done quickly maybe the club will have to pay for a police presence for some games and if any are caught they are severely punished by the law and the club. What happens to us genuine supporters that travel to away games that have had trouble with the mindless idiots? Don’t know what the answer is maybe video these idiots all the game and identify any trouble makers. Keep them in the stand till after the away support leave if it’s a segregated game. Any ideas would be welcome to stop these mindless idiots and try and save the reputation of our family club.
