A good game and a fine win. What a shame we are talking about the mini hooligans most of whom look under 12! Dont think the game needed segregation unless its for our own "youf" supporters safety. Could the club consider all under 14s have to be accompanied by an adult.Maybe until end of the season? Delighted when they were evicted from the George stock stand yesterday much better atmosphere afterwards from where i was standing .

Beat me to it Tugger18. One of my concerns of going away when incidents have occurred at Nethermoor is retaliation on fans who’ve had nothing to do with these morons.
Not too sure the Police are correct as they were singing anti Leeds songs. Other incidents of note was an object thrown on the pitch when a SS player was taking a throw in and singing the Manchester United Munich song. Totally totally unacceptable.
Fan banter is one thing, chasing a coach and putting a brick through it another. What if our coach gets bricked. It’s not like these kids would then pay for having the bus repaired but that can happen after what has occurred at our home games.
Equally I can count on a dozen occasions where the stewards have been excellent after a match away from home. Even Whitby midweek where a dozen Whitby fans were trying to have a go but the stewards were on hand and notably BPA last season. Those stewards handled it brilliantly.
As one steward said yesterday we tell them to stop doing things but they just keep on doing it. Well reinforce stewarding or bring the police in. The directors stand near the stand so can’t be obvious to what’s happening.
Just to add as others have, I am sorry to those SS fans who came to Guiseley yesterday to follow their team. Great game ruined at the end by mindless thugs whose parents probably don’t have a clue what they’re up to. Shame on you, you so called Guiseley fans.

Its was a cracking performance yesterday against the Champions Elect and a club destined for NL/NLN. Whilst Lewis took the plaudits, it was one of those days when all 1-11 had good games. I was particularly impressed by Whelan & Murphy. The turnaround under our new management is quite something. And win on Tuesday and talk of play-offs doesn’t seem too fanciful although its very tight and many teams have game-in-hands etc. Its incredibly upsetting to read of the problems after the game. Criminal behaviour outside the ground is a Police matter and the club may have to consider putting Police Officers on the Railway Bridge and Netherfield Road Car Park entrance as thy used to do when we were in the NL. Another option would be to manage them in the George Stocks stand and keep them in the ground after the game to allow all to leave safely. I agree with other comments. Not sure who thought moving them out of the George Stocks was a good idea. Simply moved the problem to a different part of the ground where they are harder to steward and spoiled the 2nd half for quite a few of us already stood behind the goal. Again apologies to the fans from South Shields who were subjected ti this idiotic behaviour

Great performance from Guiseley yesterday every player played their part in very testing conditions. If I had to name one player it would be Courtney he was outstanding at the back. Everyone deserves credit for an exceptional team performance one of the best I’ve seen from a Guiseley team. Onwards and upwards.

Idiots kids off the field, but the ones on the pitch were alright! (Though not sure Smeltz qualifies under the term ‘kids’) Still, we went toe to toe with the best team in the league, kept them at arms length in the second half, and won the game with the sort of penalty we usually end up conceding in these situations. Feels like at least some credit should go to Cam Mason in the first half, he made two very good saves to keep us in it when we were stretched. I loved that Meppen-Walter seemed to just hoof everything that came anywhere near him well into safety, Kallan Murphy and Leigh Whelan were constant nuisances, and while I thought he had a quiet first half, in the second half Lewis Whitham was brilliant. (I’ll organise a whip round if it comes to it - give that man whatever money he needs to stay till at least the end of the season. I hear our owner has had a governmental windfall, could he help us out with this maybe?) I just dearly wish these prepubescent numpties wouldn’t spoil things with their antics. What do they think they’re defending? I didn’t see any problems with the Shields fans yesterday (beyond standard grumbling about the weather), they came, they sang their songs, a couple of them inexplicably took their shirts off (and fairly swiftly put them back on) then they went for their bus. Give me Shields fans over Avro fans any day. So what they have done to offend the morons pretending to support Guiseley is beyond me. Makes me furious to think they’re ruining the reputation of the club as a whole with their rank stupidity.

No doubt who my man of the match was- Courtney - he was brilliant in defence. I think he’s been a great addition to the team and I’m delighted to hear he has signed for the rest of the season. Great atmosphere yesterday, felt like the old days. Let’s keep pushing for the playoffs and bounce back to NLN!

I too witnessed these kids rampaging on Netherfield Road pursuing the South Shields supporters bus. Apparently they had to ring the police to got escorted to safety.
Not sure why they were moved from the shed where they could have been more easily held until 15 minutes after the game to allow others to leave peacefully.
This behaviour is not acceptable and damages the reputation of the club and its supporters.
We will soon have local residents complaining to the authorities and then things may be taken out of our hands.
As Vice Chair of the Supporters I can assure all that this will be on the agenda when we meet on Wednesday when will look at ways to work with the club to stamp out this before these kids become teenagers and fully fledged hooligans dragging the club down with them.
I personally would now be in favour of only admitting under 14s when accompanied by an adult. Drastic but necessary in the short term at least.

Some of those youths are older than 14. Suggest 16 and under accompanied by an adult.

I used to be quite tolerant towards these kids, but they're becoming an irritating menace. I did notice yesterday that there was a much a higher number of youngsters at the game than normal, and thought that the club may have been giving away free tickets in schools as a promotion. Perhaps the kids present were actually promoting attendance at the game in school playgrounds for their own nefarious reasons. At recent games there has been a increasing number of these mini-hooli-wannabes, potentially aggravating away supporters to the extent of endangering regular Guiseley supporters, home and away. As someone else has suggested, it appears that Nethermoor is getting a reputation for being able to behave badly - and get away with it. It's time to nip the problem in the bud.
I'm aware that there has been a general recent increase in football-related hooliganism nationally, and I guess these kids have been watching too many YouTube and TikTok videos glorifying such behaviour. However, they don't seem to recognise the downside i.e. when some bigger boys get annoyed enough to retaliate and help them to see the error of their ways. More importantly, it is bad for the reputation of the club. The idea of requiring children to be accompanied by an adult into the ground is good, but I can see them then pestering adult supporters outside the turnstiles to accompany them in.
The stewarding needs to be significantly bolstered to keep them under control, if only in the short term. Perhaps when the problem children inside the ground have been identified, all under 25s could be funnelled through one turnstile, and only one or two regular stewards would be needed to turf away known undesirables. As has been witnessed, if there are only a couple of stewards present in the stand, the other kiddies muster around to make things difficult for the stewards. Perhaps it would be worth raising the admission fee for the youngsters to pay for it.

Some logical suggestions here but having been a supporter at Nethermoor for a number of years I can tell you some of these kids parents are present at the ground on match day so they’re probably admitting them anyway. Furthermore, when your child is asking for Stone Island jackets or hats with goggles (new rage) what do their parents think they’re up to.
Against York in the pre season friendly some kids got a beating because they danced with the wrong people, will their parents be the same people to point the finger at Guiseley afc for not protecting their children.
My kids attend all the games and are under 16. They watch the game as do many under 16’s so penalising the parents of these well behaved kids is unfair.
For me the answer is fairly straight forward, zero tolerance on fan behaviour, more stewards on match day, holding the kids back afterwards, and potentially a police presence. Kettering had a real issue last year with fan violence after games. Let’s consult with these clubs inc Prescot to establish trends and the best outcome.
It’s so sad to be talking about this after undoubtedly Guiseley’s best result this season and probably the last season too. The players should be getting the plaudits and they have in a fashion but it’s been overshadowed by kids who don’t represent the true Guiseley supporter fan base.
