The curious thing is, that for all the comings and goings, the nucleus has been steady: Mason Boateng Ible Meppen Walter Smith Daly Whelan Murphy Chippendale Whitham (6 of whom were signed by Danny). Cass would be in there too.
The low impact X1 would be: Australian keeper?; Hassan Smith Coker Sikora Vaughan Yates Chimalilo Prata Cadman Dearnley Schmeltz

Actually how close are we to a team of players with one start or less? Aside from the academy kids on first team registrations.
Certainly a strange year but last summer I would’ve taken this league position with nine games left.

Let’s face it, without Whitham on the field, there’s no attacking flair. That’s the season fizzling out and the impact of the new manager. Brown is a neat footballer, Mappen Walters is decent. Murphy puts a shift in like not many footballers do, but that’s not effective without someone alongside him Mason’s a decent keeper and Chippendale and Cassidy can do a job if fit. The rest have some massive improvements to make or need moving on for me. The manager probably knows this.
The Guiseley team of 1989-91 would have comfortably beaten us today. Was as entertaining as watching us under Cox, and that was thoroughly miserable.

One of the poorest games Ive ever seen at Nethermoor Genuinely bewildered by decision to let Adam Haw go when you saw our bench today. Disappointed to see our Superstars drinking and playing darts in the clubhouse (for the 2nd Saturday running) rather than watching their teammates I feel compelled to ask but are we any better for sacking Danny E and employing P “its not my fault” P. I can’t help feeling we’d have been been in exactly the same place if we’d stuck with the 2 Dannys. Rest of the season feels fairly pointless now. We can’t go up and we can’t go down. It would be nice to see us try to create a team to take into next season rather than as we have currently a group of individuals who at times look like they’ve never trained together….

It must be really disturbing to players turning up for training or even match day to find yet another new face and to find team mates of long standing suddenly gone,is this how Mr.Phillips thinks this keep players on their toes,it doesn't it's unsettling it's bad man management and it shows on the pitch as does bellowing from the dugout. The players play to the managers plan,if its not working change it don't blame players for trying to carry out your instructions.

If that game was played to the manager's tactics then it was garbage !! They just played the percentage game ie hoof down the field and hope the opposition defence makes a mistake - no quality I'm afraid. Whitham may have made a difference but the tactic would have been exactly the same. Much of the right hand side of the attacking half of the field in the second half wasn't used - saw the grass growing !!

Not a good game again. From memory no shots on target in whole game. Gainsborough were not great, but good enough to beat us. Not sure what the answer is, but a couple of key players out and we seem to not be able to compete.

Very disappointing to hear PP call players cowards in his post match interview.

Disappointing is the least of what I'd call publicly shaming a group of young men who look to him for leadership, support, expertise and knowledge. If his ego is so big he's incapable of taking some responsibility for how his game plan didn't work, to my mind he's a rubbish manager. If it had gone the other way I'm sure he would happily have taken all the plaudits.

A drab game at Nethermoor on a dull afternoon against a team in a grey kit. The first half came and went, I can't remember either side really causing the keepers much bother. Mason did have to gather a shot from range but it was a fairly simple stop for the keeper. We did have a lot of the play but failed to work a way through Trinity's defence. The second half got off to the worst possible start when Waldock put his side in front with a side footed finish. Mason was definitely the busier of the two shot stoppers in the the second 45 but even his gloves hardly got a spec of mud on them. He made a stop at his near post to stop the visitors getting a second late on in the game. Lewis Hey made his return and had a really good chance to level the scores but he shot over. The academy graduate winger then found himself in another good position, he teed up Bakkor but his shot flew wide of the mark. Another costly defeat as we now have a lot of ground to make up in the play off race with just eight games to go. Onto Marine away next week. Come on Guiseley! AB
