No surprise but I thought PP might get another chance next Saturday. As regards a new manager I'd go for Adam Lakeland, ex-Farsley and currently at Curzon Ashton as he's done a superb job at both clubs with limited budgets and whoever was at Farsley last season did a good job and then left at the end of the season but his name escapes me. Think Kitty had his best years with us but nearly did the impossible and kept us in the NLN. But whatever the outcome I'm sure James is in for a busy week!

Glad the club has been decisive and not waited til Christmas to see how we are doing.: We need a manager who can get the best out of players and sadly for whatever reasons it wasn’t working under PP. I hope we get a manager whose style is to encourage flowing skilful football and not hoof ball! Did you see the game last Saturday? Didn’t base my comment on last Saturdays performance but on previous games where the clear intention was to bypass the midfield and lob the ball forward for Denton in the hope he would head the ball in. We played similar tactics in the Paul Cox era and as a supporter its not fun to watch and didn’t achieve the desired results either!

Tom Denton will score bags of goals if you want him to, but not if you just lump it onto his head when he’s barely over the halfway line. There’s no need to play long ball - feel free to use the flanks and cross it into the box like it’s 1995.
But the whole squad has better options available on paper than we’ve seen on the pitch so far.

Couldn't agree more Nik, Denton is far more than a target man and I think we have the squad but we need someone to get the best out of them.

The style of play we have played in some games has been determined by the players we have had available. When we had a team available to play the pressing and passing game we saw that on Saturday.

Sad when someone loses their job, but this appears to have been coming for a while. A number of fans seem to think it’s the manager and that the squad is sound, with just the right person needed to bring them up to speed. I confess, I don’t know. There are some good players in/amongst but results and goals conceded suggest problems and they’re the ones on the park, it’s ultimately down to the players. Last season’s home win v South Shields was a high point for me and everything that followed, was on a lower level to varying degrees. I am hoping the new person, like everyone else, could make a big difference and perhaps point us in that direction again, but appointing managers always has an element of chance about it. Certainly, the people doing so, need to make as wise a choice as they can this time, and I hope it’s ‘a good one’.

Leftwinger I agree some games results are down to players and what happens on the pitch but, ultimately the team are playing to managers instructions and game plan, that's why he's employed to come up with a plan and strategy to beat the opposition on the day. You would hope that plan and strategy could be changed by the manager when it's obviously not working using the tools/players at his disposal. And it's the players that get it in the neck if they do not follow instructions given by the manager whether those instructions worked or not.

I'd go for Bowser and Bosh! B+B And judging by BPA’s forum they’d be happy to see them go. A bit like the Farsley, have done well with a limited budget

But if that happened to make the fans happy… would it be our fault if it didn’t work out (rather than the owners/board)?
(I’m as sentimental as anyone here, just wanna check I’ve understood the implications of such a romantic appointment)

That's what we thought Phillips was appointed to do!

(I’m as sentimental as anyone here, just wanna check I’ve understood the implications of such a romantic appointment) Id genuinely love B+B to come back Because that was the happiest time of my GAFC supporters life Kitty had amazing teams but Bowser gave me Alty and Chorley and Torquay…. And the Club gave Locky a lot more dollars after he was sacked And I remember the Boxing Day game where BPA absolutely played us off the pitch and then switched the money off BUT… Whilst I would love them back, little chance of it happening. BPA is a lot safer than GAFC And YEP if it failed, would i have lost my love for B+B. No and it wouldn’t be the Boards fault either

Is it play-off, promotion etc For me, it is being somewhere near promotion from NPL I don’t see us as NL anytime soon and Football League for now is a dream But think we should be between NPL/NLN, in that sense B+B could do a job…..
