Another nuts performance again. Form has been terrible over the last few weeks. With Warrington and Worksop to come we will lose comfortably on current form. Playoff dream is over now

Another disappointing defeat today in a game which was fairly equal but it was Lancaster who were the more clinical to take the win. Against the run of play they took the lead but we hadn't caused their backline any problems other than a couple of close calls with the offside flag. Carroll slotted past Battersby who had darted off his line to stop the shot. 17 minutes later we were level when Johnson showed great persistence to keep the ball in play and delivered in a dangerous cross with Ible bundled home after a scramble in the six yard box. This sparked a mini spell of pressure, Murphy saw his shot deflected off the post by the foot of a defender. There was another couple dangerous deliveries into the box but the half came to an end with the sides level. The second half started in a sad way when Whelan clashed heads with a visiting defender, Whelan suffered a nasty cut to the head and had to be withdrawn but thankfully he was able to watch the closing stages of the game. Johnson tried an acrobatic goal with an overhead kick but it was an easy stop for former Lion Stewart. With 15 minutes of normal time left Evangelinos struck an audacious goal to put his side back in front, Battersby had no chance with the number 7 showing great technique to strike into the top corner. Then in added time the visitors made it 3-1 to put the game out of reach with Connelly striking well into the bottom corner from a narrow angle. We did pull one back through Johnson's powerful curled shot but it was too little too late. We move on to Warrington Rylands at home on Saturday. Come on Guiseley! AB

First back-to-back league defeats of the season, perfect timing from us….

Disappointing to see the opposition appear to want it more than us. Not been many times that’s been the case this season but why now?
No clear game plan and there back 4 were a unit whilst ours were individuals.
Lack a striker to give us the advantage at key moments.
Playoffs all but over but at least we are not facing relegation.
More importantly hope Leigh Whelan is ok but sadly he’ll be out for a mandatory 2 weeks I believe.

I couldn’t make it so won’t comment on the game. I’m just absolutely gutted that we were so close and playing nice football and it suddenly stopped as we got to the sharp end of the campaign.

I felt that Lancaster ‘outmuscled’ us in a way that Ilkleston didn’t. We lost both games, of course, but Lancaster were quite happy to disrupt our flow in whatever way they could, and I thought we were bullied a bit today.
I still think we could make the play-offs, but we need a couple of teams to slip a bit whilst we regain some traction.. The likelihood is, though, that we’ll be stuck in the glue again next season, and it’s a hard, hard league to leave unless you really throw some money at it, or can build a side of guile and graft with a couple of 20 goals a head marksmen taking most of the chances that come their way.

As said another disappointing defeat & performance. We created less chances this week but that was due to Lancaster being quick to close us down & block our forward play.
Thought our game plan was again lacking and overall, I'd say, Lancaster were the better team & deserved the points.
I said before the Ilkeston game we needed to be sat on 64 points after Easter to make the play-offs and we aren't. Yes only 3 points off Hyde, but for me, too many rivals are now between us and 5th place. Not all over, but must win games against Warrington n Worksop are going to be difficult to achieve especially on current form.

So our manager said we need to be ruthless, well this was more like toothless. No midfield to speak of until Luke Mariette came on and far too many balls played forward on the off chance and why take debutant Luke Partington off who was having a solid game because thats where the second and third goals came from? We ought to recall Callum Chippendale to the midfield as he must be an improvement on what we have at the moment and Academy prospect Danyaal Khan is scoring goals for fun so why not give him a run out?

Lancaster also managed the referee very effectively. And we fell in to their traps every time. It was not intelligent football.

I would like Mr.Welsh and maybe our trainers to explain why and how our team who not that many weeks ago, were playing attractive entertaining football, who appeared to be enjoying being together both on and off the pitch, working for each other and taking pleasure in good results, have turned into arm waving, shoulder hunching, lethargic, uncommitted and apparently unconcerned players. My personal opinion is its something in the background, what on earth has a player of Chippendales ability done to deserve being ghosted?is this how players who express an honest opinion get treated by management?if this isn't the case what is? Is it becoming like Leeds Utd under Marshe the players don't understand and can't play to his plan and it's so ridged it can't be changed. That,I can see is the only explanation to our current dilemma.

Thought yesterday’s game was just like end of season game with both clubs nothing to play for. From the fast tempo football we were playing to how we are playing now somethings not right. Thought we looked tired and sometimes disinterested. The manager needs to turn this around for next week if we are to stand any chance of the playoffs. Onwards and upwards.

A disappointing result and performance. We look to have tanked at just the wrong time. Hard to see after the last 3 performances us winning 4 of the last 5 which is what will be needed. In fact it’s hard to see where next win is coming from. Hard to believe this is pretty much the same team that did the double over Radcliffe. Personally, I thought we were better when we played 4-3-3 with Prince as our No 10. Having Gabs back has complicated matters. I’m not sure you can have 2 wingers and Gabs and Kallian. Anyways here hoping we don’t finish the season limping over the finish line like last season.

I can imagine why he wants to start both Gabs and Kallan but being ruthless neither of them are scoring so why not play more like what we were doing with Prince/Leigh and either Mariette or Liam when we were doing well?
I hope it’s not because of disgruntled players. We were so close, and I hope no one would be so petty as to try and spoil things for hundreds of genuine fans because of their own singular circumstances, even if they had fair reason to not be happy with their personal season.
