Any plans for a pitch inspection? My garden is just a hoofed clearance away from the ground and is very boggy.

Was just going to ask the same. It was raining pretty hard last night. Any danger of the game being off?

I understand Roger’s looked at it already this morning and there are no concerns. Well, I’m concerned about how windy it’s going to be, but the pitch should be ok.

I would guess about 5, mid-range passes. The ball has landed in my garden 3 times in the past 12 years of living here (and yes, i did return them).

I thought we were the better team first half, they were the second half. After Denton was taken off they dominated.
Think those who cheered Denton being subbed are being unnecessarily unkind. He was part of everything good we did today and we were much worse without him. The season’s dead and I guess he won’t stay, but we can do better than jeering our own like that.
To bang a drum I’ve banged often, 442 works best if your two in midfield are exceptional and you can use the width - not sure Mariette is the man for that, Whelan was a big miss, and our poor recruitment of wingers was laid bare too really.

I think part of the problem when you see Denton in the starting line up is that you know you're going to see only one style of play and the opposition see it also,if it works fine but unfortunately more often than not it doesn't and substitutions are forced. I think the disapproval from the fans reflects this, not Tom's work rate or commitment but I agree its not on. To my mind Ollie Brown has been missed the last couple of games and Leigh today. I honestly feel that you can't turn around a slump in just a couple of training sessions and that there are better results to come even if we don't make play offs.

Think it was very poor today, worse than last two weeks. We were better in first half mainly due to wind advantage but didnt really trouble Rylands. Second half to me was a matter of when will Rylands score & they did.
Cant remember us having a shot on target in whole game which considering this was a much win is poor to say the least.
For me the play-offs have gone, but I hope we can show a bit of guile and win a couple of games to cheer supporters up. We can but hope.

I cannot understand the cheers when Dents went off. Everyone rates players differently but he doesn't deserve that. He is second top scorer with 10. Take away 3 v Ilkley and he is joint 2nd with 7. It cannot be said we improved when he went off.

I thought a poor game (largely due to the wind) I thought we were very poor. As Rallyman says, hard to remember their Keeper making a save. Whilst I thought they wanted it more, first to every challenge, understood how to play in the wind etc There was no new-manager bounce Didn’t look like there was a whole lot of new energy. Personally, I didn’t clap at Denton’s substitution but admittedly didn’t think he offered anything whilst he was playing. His legs are gone and should be used as a “last 15” substitute I hope I’m wrong but can’t help thinking we are limping to the end of the season Very very disappointed

Thought the jeering of Denton when subbed was unnecessary and disappointing to hear.
There was no bounce effect from dismissing Andy Welsh against a wiser opposition who kept it simple.
Still looking forward to a couple more away trips. They are a decent squad and decent individuals so it’s been all in all an enjoyable season.
Big decision in the summer regarding a new manager.
I hope whoever they appoint will be allowed to manage and bring players in and ship players out as they think best.
I think the club need to clarify Russ O’Neills role as an absence of this inevitably leads to rumour and speculation.

As previously said it isn't Tom per se who is the problem it's the game plan, and if that plan is he's the target to use his height, well then the training session should be aim at him with accuracy and precision ,every player from anywhere on the pitch and practice until its second nature not just a hopeful punt, but a deliberate high ball to him,the key words accuracy and precision a measured ball.

I thought at the beginning of the season that Tom Denton was a great prospect to score goals, but unfortunately it just hasn't worked out with the variety of teams assembled this season. A regular goal scorer is a problem that we've only had temporary respite in recent years. when we had Aaron Martin for a few months, and Gabriel Johnson for a short golden period recently. The trouble seemed to be that Denton was a bit of square peg trying to be hammered into a round hole with the teams assembled around him. And while his goal tally is meagre, it certainly didn't merit being booed off.
As previously said, the wind was a major problem, which Rylands coped with better. With all 8 teams now above us in the table winning today, it looks like that the fat lady has started singing for this season. Onwards and upwards for next season.
