Good to see a much-needed 3 points after the last few weeks, and an improved performance (albeit against a poor FCUM side).
But I’m absolutely staggered that I ended up having to take my 6- and 4-year-old and elderly parents into the garden of a stranger on Ings Crescent to keep them safe from the brawling idiots who trapped us in on both sides. Having watched Guiseley for 30 years, I’m appalled to witness the behaviour from the young wannabe hooligan element that were out in force - absolutely pathetic. From what I saw the trouble was instigated entirely by them, not by the FCUM fans. If the powers that be think action taken in previous years had weeded out the problem, they are very much mistaken.

Sadly at 89 mins we overheard a large group of Guiseley fans saying they wanted to make sure they were past the tunnel to make sure that they could get out of the ground asap and confront the FC United fans on Ings Lane/Ings Crescent after the game. They clearly came to the game with intentions to cause as much violence and trouble as possible at the final whistle regardless of the result. And indeed I witnessed several running across the pitch at full time to make sure they were on the Ings Crescent side of the ground when it became clear they were stuck behind the tunnel.
Without wanting to repeat the disgusting chants heard by our home fans, I also heard repeated sick chants about the Munich Air Disaster and also chants aimed at stewards/police in the ground with absolutely no repercussion. It was pathetic that the stewards took no action whatsoever and that this behaviour will go unpunished. These teenage fans are an absolute stain on the club and the board seemingly have no interest in deterring this behaviour.
As usual the club was completely oblivious to this or were uninterested in the problems that were obviously going to occur at full time. Yet another failure of the board to address the problem of the teenage wannabee thugs who are still welcomed into our ground.

Additionally I can say I attended the FC United away game last year and the home fans were exemplary on that occasion - a credit to their club unlike the home fans today which were an utter disgrace. Unfortunately as with all thing associated with this club the board seem completely incapable of running this club properly. Just another instance of ineptitude in running a football club and allowing these idiots into the ground week in week out.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but,my understanding was that the club had brought in a policy that under 16 fans had to be registered members of the supporters club and given a membership card or accompanied by an adult to gain entry to the ground or was that just for supporters bus travel . Surely it was fairly obvious that the large number of little maggots that turned up were there to simply cause trouble. They had gathered in one stand could not the stewards (of which there were too few) accompanied by the police that turned up, have prevented anyone from leaving that stand until the opposition fans had chance to clear the area. We appeared to have cleared out the majority of the idiots but they see a segregated game and think they have to defend their turf. So issue photo ID have security at the turnstiles, limit them to one turnstile, no ID no entry. If they cause trouble outside the ground that's down to the police.

A decent performance today against an out of sorts FC United. Shame that we have faltered in recent weeks as had we picked up 4 points from games we have lost we would have been in good shape. That 4 might have come from Matlock, Stafford, Ilkeston etc. shame to miss out down to those performances. Something for players to reflect on.
Disappointed to hear that junior hoolies have embarrassed themselves again. FC United fans seemed decent today. Embarrassing that such idiocy can be associated with us. Unfortunately it’s a wider trend of stupidity amongst some younger lads. We shouldn’t castigate all younger fans we have some decent young followers. For those that aren’t they should bear in mind that criminal records and fines will follow for those caught - the consequences will live with them for a long time.

It’s absolutely disgraceful that coming to Guiseley AFC for genuine fans as yourself has forced you into situations like this. I hope people like them do not succeed in driving away our family-friendly status.

I’m absolutely gutted to read this. I have two even younger than yours that I have felt uncertain about bringing because of the trouble last season, but it’s been so much better more recently. I advised a friend against bringing his little one to his first Guiseley game today on the basis that FCUM had been tricky in the past and then texted partway through to apologise because the atmosphere was good and the ground felt safe. I think most of the trouble started later on in the match? Very sad to be right for the wrong reason, I thought we were past this.

On the pitch, we were pretty good, they were pretty c**p. Leaves me wondering what if we hadn’t blown some winnable games, but just for today it was nice to see us outplay a team.

As comfortable a win as you like at Nethermoor today to hopefully end the home campaign on a positive results wise. FC United were never really in the contest, even at 0-0 we could have scored a few early goals to really kill the game off. We had the ball in the net just four minutes in but it was ruled out for offside. The relentless attacking didn’t stop though and Murphy had a golden chance to break the deadlock not long after but he took too long and the chance was gone. The flow of the match was disrupted after a lengthy stoppage due to a head injury. With ten minutes left we were in front when a corner from Dawson found Kendall free in the box to power the ball home Then just a minute later we doubled our lead when Brown’s cross was diverted past his own keeper by a visiting defender. But then FC United had a penalty and former Lion Ennis slotted in from the spot after sending Battersby the wrong way. In first half injury time we got the match settler when Murphy scored an outrageous overhead kick with the FC United keeper stranded. The second half never really got going as a contest with points effectively wrapped up. Battersby made a good stop to deny the visitors a way back into the game. We did have a couple of half chances towards the end of the game but the points were safe. Well played Guiseley! Onto Worksop Town at home on Tuesday. Come on Guiseley! AB

Didn't attend yesterdays game but its pretty obvious at most home games that these little scroates are out to cause trouble if they can fuelled by alcohol which most of them don't look old enough to drink. They also seem to be led by one individual who seems to have ingratiated himself with the club and the situation needs to be nipped in the bud before the start of next season.

I saw the police chase and arrest some ‘fans’ at the end of the game, and was informed that they were Guiseley lads.
The colour drained from one young lads face as the police put the cuffs on him, and his pal seemed to be ‘talking himself into the book’, too. It looked like good and proper policing, and it seems to be the only way to root out the real offenders as well as providing clear visual evidence to the rest of us that the police, at least, are willing to do their job.

Unfortunately I had to go at half-time yesterday as wasn’t feeling well but passed a group of 15-16 year olds obviously all intoxicated coming from the White Cross direction with some crossing the road at the pelican crossing. There were at leat 2 empty 12 pack Strongbow cider boxes littered at end of Back Lane - who is supplying these?? Think it all stems from the Leeds/ Man Utd hate relationship ( and Leeds not playing yesterday ) These youths are obviously been fed worthless foam from the mouth by other adults. That wouldn’t have happened yesterday if we had been playing Atherton or Basford !!

Thought we played some decent football yesterday. Glad to see we didn’t play out from the back to often and got the ball forward quickly. Once again the game and the presentations after the game was overshadowed by the mindless idiots who are hell bent on tarnishing Guiseley’s reputation. I also went to the corresponding away fixture and enjoyed a good day out with no trouble. I feel sorry for away fans having to be subjected to this hooliganism from so called Guiseley fans. Onwards and upwards.

Sad to say I’m pretty sure some of our younger fans - including one or two who post here - did in fact make fools of themselves at the corresponding away fixture.
